Wow, all I got on the way home with mine were some strange looks and stares...
I pulled mine home with my M1009 so as not to need to rig up any trailer lighting- plugs right in. That was the first and last time it was ever behind the 1009 too.
I paid $750 for this one ($950 for the first...
Why 55-60MPH? Were you worried about the trailer's top-speed limit or was that all the truck would do with the trailer behind it?
I've run mine 70-75MPH without drama. I wouldn't suggest you do that, but just putting it out there that the trailer's speed limitation is somewhat conservative...
Probe the back side of the switch to determine if there's power there. That will easily/quickly rule out the switch if you don't have power there either.
Fuse?
I'm a little worried about this piece here as it's also looking pretty dry and cracked (at least on the surface).
It seems to be just a splitter, but I know that sometimes they are more specialized - one side may have more restriction than the other.
Easy part to find?
Thanks cucvrus, I hoped you'd chime in!
After work I popped the hood and took a look.
Could it be this easy?
I cut the hose back a bit and stretched the two lines together and took it around the block- seems to be shifting normally.

Also in WA and reading because I would love to have one if these. Haven't had the nerve to bid on any as I don't know much about them or have any heavy truck maintenance experience. I like the ones Suprman has out there in my home state of CT, but too far away.
I saw a really nice privately...

Thanks, I'll return it then.
In case anyone ever searches for this info I changed the thread title.
Thanks to all the help it wasn't really a tough job at all- just unfamiliar territory.
I used the vacuum pump to pull the old gear oil out through the fill hole. I figured the pump pulled...
When I realized you weren't waiting by the forum for my questions, I went outside and figured it out. :D
Question- do I want to use a limited slip additive with the 80/90 gear oil? I got some, just don't know if I want to use it. The LO doesn't mention it for the 1009, but the gov-lock is a...
