First real use of Mep-803 | Praises and problems (albeit little)

LOL yes, I'm saying ill get a sample when I change the oil next, and ill take the sample from the USED oil of course. Ill run the set to warm up the oil, and get all the metals suspended and take my sample during draining. But ill be sure to change this plan if the test facility has other...

First real use of Mep-803 | Praises and problems (albeit little)

Mmkay back with a sniff test report. Results: inconclusive. I don’t think it has a diesel smell to it, but it’s probably not the best method. Especially for someone that has never worked on Diesel engines. I do have UV leak detector dye somewhere around here. I need to read h the bottle to...

First real use of Mep-803 | Praises and problems (albeit little)

This is good info. I’ll give it a good sniff tomorrow and report back. I partially would feel relieved if it was diesel in oil causing the issue, because I think worst case scenario would be bearings, right? What would cause diesel to be in the oil? Mechanical gauge won’t be in until Sunday...

First real use of Mep-803 | Praises and problems (albeit little)

@2Pbfeet oil smells like I would expect. Kinda has that slightly used smell. But, I’m probably not the best to ask. It doesn’t have a diesel smell if that’s what you’re getting at. Or are you concerned its water maybe?

First real use of Mep-803 | Praises and problems (albeit little)

This is a reset unit with 1600 hours. I’m currently running the same oil I bought it with. I should note though that this set came from another forum member. He tells me he used shell t4 15w-40 and the oil is still very clean. I am normally pretty militant about changing oil after a purchase but...

First real use of Mep-803 | Praises and problems (albeit little)

@kloppk Thank you for that clarification! Its very comforting to know you've designed it in that way! Yes I intend to install a mechanical gauge. Ill do so and report back. Thanks Kurt for your awesome product btw. Any readers of this should certainly not interpret this as a knock on the...

First real use of Mep-803 | Praises and problems (albeit little)

Gentleman! Had some bad storms roll into east of Dallas, Texas where we live and took out many powerlines . Infact, many are still without power after over I think 36 hours. My setup is an Mep-803, a generac ATS, and @kloppk 's 802/803 remote start controller with the 2 wire/generac controller...

to be clear, you're looking for an auxiliary fuel tank to mount beneath the MEP that also has a drip tray?

Generator install & fix up thread

I replaced the belt, belt looked to be in decent shape. Tightened belt and noise has gone away. I purchased 2 belts, so I have a new replacement on hand, and in a pinch I have the old still if I ever needed it. Additionally I went through and tightened hose clamps on the lower radiator hoses...

Generator install & fix up thread

its a reset with 1400 hours. I went ahead and bought 2 replacement belts already. Belt only is noisy on startup, I’m guessing that’s when there is most draw on alternator causing the old belt to slip. I’ll closely examine the belt and look at any alignment issues too. But I figured it won’t...

Generator install & fix up thread

It runs perfectly after calibration! thanks Kurt for the help and for such a great product! now to figure out my belt squeal on startup and my coolant leak..

Generator install & fix up thread

I haven’t yet. I’m confident that’s my problem though. I was unaware of that function of the control card. I’ll calibrate and report back
