    M116A3 Fix-up & Conversion Thread

That seems awfully "Heath Robinson" (cobbled together - can't remember the correct 'American' term). Wouldn't there be a 'bespoke' pin on a chain ? I looked in the TM but it's only for maintenance etc., not operation.

    Canvas winch cover,...?

That is a photo I found. I need the whole lamp x 2. I'll try look through all my other pics to see if I have a close up. That lamp wasn't ever sold in the US as far as I know. Probably a Hella?

    M116A3 Fix-up & Conversion Thread

Wasn't me - came like that from DRMO 2 weeks ago. Lots had gotten clobbered inc front jack leg, hub cap missing, rear stabiliser bust, brake line crimped and split..... But yes, that's the part that got mangled. . Kinda got it straightened out - not too pretty but I think it will be...

    Canvas winch cover,...?

I need a pair of these - don't think that they are still available new... but one thing that seems to be hard to get is reproduction ADF rego plates - preferably the earlier white on black rather than the green on white. Even old civilian ones seem impossible - which could be used to copy...

M116A3 Surge brake grenaded! Damper took a hit too. Hopefully I can unpeel this lot and see how it was originally made. May have to cut out the whole center and re-man it. Issue will be making it the correct size to engage the spring retainer. I guess there's no "REPAIRING" the damper...

Driving a personal Humvee on the streets while national guard is deployed in state

Not sure how I should reply... Apples and oranges, exactly the time to defend rights.... What? Driving a Humvee amidst the Guard being on duty - not following directions when the director thinks you are part of a convoy or arriving somewhere where the Guard is expected but then not then being...

Driving a personal Humvee on the streets while national guard is deployed in state

My wife does this job. Those boxes are homemade but offer some added protection, but they are all S**T scared as the hospital is about to get swamped by NYC transfers. Drs and respiration staff are getting hit bad. Now is not the time to run around defending what your rights are. If you are...

Auction links - changes to the rules

Thanks patracy - does this mean that the multiple item lots can be discussed by PM if some one posts "I only need 1 - but there are 4 on the pallet"... Or the combination in a lot that someone "only needs the trailer and is looking for someone who wants the tractor" etc?

Commercial license required for the MTVR?

... and you know why? The AARP has too big a loby therefore wrinckleys will always be exempt. There are at least 52 answers to this question, multiply by the number of other states you want to drive in, less the number of exemptions your state has as fasttruck said in post #6. It's your a$$...

    M116A3 Jack Leg repair

Found some 1 1/4 x 1/4 and some 3/4 bar stock. I tried it on the repaired leg and it actually worked quite slick - I made the female slotted end a pretty snug fit so no wobble when operating.... though the stowage design does not inspire much confidence for longevity. Since it's only a repro...

    M116A3 Jack Leg repair

Thanks for the info - Actually, for me, I was way off!! And if I had gone my route, there would have been skinned knuckles for sure! I will time the build to see what $$ it would cost to reproduce. The "R-pin" idea is pretty sad, so I am sure that there will be travelling losses in the future!

    M116A3 Jack Leg repair

So - from your pics and the size of both; the handle stowage retainer (with "R" pin) [1/4 thick & 1" from pin center to leg - using your pic I didn't use below] and my hand (let's assume that is a reasonable guess, these are the dims that seem to scale. Let me know if this is close enough...
