Super easy. Trust in the force Luke.
The TM a goes over tranny function and troubleshooting in painfully detailed descriptions with pictures and arrows.
Initially seems daunting. It isn’t. Just simple grunt work with a few protocols to follow.
You will be OK.
Steve, good to hear from you.
A friend of mine just took his rig into the ocean and ripped up his radiator. Just sayin’.
I wonder if something in the design must have been changed to allow fording in the REV B and C units. What is in the revised TM?
Dash light becomes an indicator that you pressed the glow plug button and is no longer a wait light. My added LED will light when at least one glow plug is active. I no longer build or sell the units with that added LED.
So peapvp/Peter, I guess I got lucky with a unit that might be more easily dissected. Seems like there might be differing batches with differing construction.
Glad mine isn’t epoxy.
Thanks for your pictures and your information.

GM, Ford, and Chrysler regulator products don’t have an ounce of silicone and yet they work well, even on bumps. Same with Bosch.
No silicone in G500 Mercedes and no silicone in GM...
Just started gutting my N3135. Neihoff are such a PITA. They potted the unit in silicone containing 1-2 mm gravel chips. Not gonna stop me.

Caveat emptor.
That being said, I have some amazing vehicles. I also found a great parts car.
Where else can you purchase a $300,000 and up vehicle for less than $5000 - $10,000 in some cases?
This cup is more than half full, and I prefer to concentrate on half full rather than concentrating...
Easy and cheap to repair yours.
Also Camo sells a good unit but he is not the only one who sells the push button units.
