What tracked armor options do I have these day?

Not armor, but I would love an M29 Weasel.

    Multifuel Rythmic Shudder

Yea its an old thread but it was not the air compressor cycling on and off. That is obvious when it kicks on and off with the air governor, no question there. The belt is tight. You can hear it chirp when its not tight. I 100% agree on the antisieze on the threads for the air compressor. I did...

First Real load on my 803a

Don't forget to check the oil in these units if you plan on running it a long time. Like in the case of my MEP-002A, the oil helps cool the engine as well, so when it is to the full mark, that is more cooling the engine has. Just my $.02 as preventative maintenance. I need to put my MEP-002A on...

Found out torque wrench is not accurate *after* rear main seal job

I worked for a defense contractor for 4 years and I had the calibration department check my torque wrenches out, they were all within spec and only a couple pounds off. Those guys were saying even with brand new craftsman torque wrenches, they were not within spec. I think torque wrenches are...

M35A3 Seat Parts Compatibility? Better seat comfort than the A2?

I contacted Isringhausen for parts for my M35A3 seat. They said it was a 6000 series seat and sent me this parts list: I do not know if this seat was used in other vehicles so maybe it would be a good idea to put this parts list somewhere under the manuals section?

    New Project tracked vehicle

Does it have a rear winch? I heard that the rear winches for those are rare.

    Engine chatter

I have a rattle under my dash and am not sure what that is. It sounds like a bracket of some sort. Once you work on these trucks enough, you can almost pin point the sounds, at least I can usually. Each noise has a different pitch. a rattling copper line at idle has a different sound than a...

M35A3 Seat Parts Compatibility? Better seat comfort than the A2?

I know this is an older post but I cant seem to find a parts breakdown for the seat assembly itself. I would like to fix the adjustment knob shaft and possibly get new upholstery for the seat so I can use it. From my research the company that made the seat is Isringhausen (ISRI) and the model...

Piston Rings Worn Out, Time for a Rebuild

I found this a while ago and it was listed in the TM-9-2815-204-35. It is talking about the LDS 427-2. I do not know if the cams were different with the LDS-427 and the LDT-465. Here it is anyway for the LDS-427:

Piston Rings Worn Out, Time for a Rebuild

How does it start when it is cold? Mine was a bear to start when it was cold (60 degrees F) when I had those new style LDS pistons. Right now with my OEM LDT pistons, my boost can barely hit 17psi and the EGTs never get about 1000 empty. I tried and had a little hill and it just didn't get...

    Engine chatter

Well if your valves are ticking, have you adjusted them? If you know you have an issue with one thing, its best to solve them. Its weird how one thing can effect another sometimes. If the air compressor belt is loose and it is building air, that can sound like a ticking, or knocking. If the...

Piston Rings Worn Out, Time for a Rebuild

Im glad to see they are taking care of you with the injectors. Stories like this are good and only helps a vendor build a good reputation. This is why I always like to check parts that I get like that. you never know what stuff you may get and its always good to know what parts are like that go...

Piston Rings Worn Out, Time for a Rebuild

I have an LDS in my M109A3 and that sounds completely different than my M35A2. I think that could be why. The rocker arms are the same on both engine (I verified it).

Piston Rings Worn Out, Time for a Rebuild

I went through some injectors back in the day pop testing them to calibrate them. you get them once in a while that leak a little and what not. Personally, I would still pop test the new injectors just so you know they are exactly what you want and that they are all balanced. I have a set of...

    back-up camera

I was told by somebody on here that the trailer always follows the truck while backing up. so put the camera on the trailer and you will never hit anything.:-P

Piston Rings Worn Out, Time for a Rebuild

I thought I saw some nozzles online a while back. Did you try searching for the part number online? Are your injectors the shim style or the screw adjustable style?

M1061A1 trailer from Binghamton NY to Findlay Ohio or Detrot Area

I have a M1061A1 trailer that needs to be brought out from Binghamton, NY to either Detroit or Findlay Ohio (for the Findlay Show). This is a representative picture of an M1061A1. The bed is 8'x14' and weighs about 5850 pounds. Has air brakes and can be pulled by a Deuce, 5 Ton or similar vehicle.
