I am still working with them so if they make it right, I will give credit where it is due. That is only fair. As of right now, Eastern Surplus is in the dog house.
That is just it. It is way too much work to do this to second guess the work or second guess the parts. I want it to be right and receive the parts that I order... not mixed matched stuff.
Back when I ordered piston rings (for the original LDT Style Pistons) from Eastern Surplus, I never looked over all the piston rings they sent me. 4 of the piston rings sets were in heat sealed packaging with no numbers on them whatsoever. The other to sets were wrapped up in glad wrap, like the...
I can do this stuff in my sleep I think. I have done it so many times. Im not scared to do them any more. I pretty know what tools I need and I get to work. Its tough because I have all the parts to put NOS heads on it with new rings and not cost me much or anything. Still debating what I should...
I still need to pull my injection pump off and install it on the other engine. It will be a lot easier to do when its in the can vs in the truck. I did that once and it was not ergonomically friendly.
That is a good price! When I looked at my old heads and all the parts, I found it would have been cheaper to get new heads. I just looked at the valves myself and determined I needed new ones because they were worn along with the guides. I'm glad yours worked out. I still have my old heads, so...
I agree with the if its not broke part with the exception of the head gaskets. Head gaskets were a weak link in these and I would rather put a new set on so it does not fail me sometime on the road and I have to fix it again. I have the time now and its early in the season. Rather do the stuff I...
You might have to loosen the screws a couple turns that hold in the rest of the window regulator so you can just get the other screws started. Then tighten the rest up. I believe there are 4 screws that hold the regulator in.
Gimp said it was a good running engine, and I do believe him. I am very happy with the engine I bought from him, so its not that I don't like the deal. I still have NOS heads on my old engine I could put on this engine. Those NOS heads I bought only have about 2000 miles on them. Chances are I...
I went and got a "new" engine from Gimpy last weekend. I am very happy with it so far even though I did not swap it over yet. I noticed it had the old style head gaskets with the tabs that stick out of the block. I bought head gaskets gimp just in case I wanted to change them. So, here are my...
I did not. I felt the height with my finger though and it was about even. Are you thinking compression is leaking past the gasket and into the crank case? I had 74M35A2 and my Dad look at the gaskets and we all did not see any signs of leakage at all with the head gaskets. Is that what you are...
