Mixing up paint to spray in a gun is so easy, I don't know why you would do it with cans. I mean my finger and thumb jut hurts thinking about it. haha [thumbzup]
I gave my hydraulic hose shop a piece of injector line from a deuce which they cut and spliced that to a hose. I told them it could be around 3600 PSI and then they worked their magic on the connection to the pop tester.
You and me both. I'm running out of patience too. That snap or pop we heard was a little weird but its hard to say what it was. I dont have any experience with something like that cracking when I torqued it down per the manual. It very well could be though. I think it was the front head that did...
I also had the diode in the horn system go bad in my buddy's truck which caused the horn to stick on. good thing is that its not that complicated of a system. A basic volt meter/test light and flare nut wrench (to loosen the air line to see if you have air to the horn) and jumper wires should be...
I pulled the oil cap off to check for moisture like I had before. The truck is back to its same old tricks. I added a gallon of coolant (first time I added any since I put it together, part of it could have been an air bubble or whatever) and there is moisture under the cap. I'm done with this...
I am using Rotella 15W-40 in the white jug, which is mineral based.
My EGT's are lower than what they were before the rebuild which leads me to believe all 6 cylinders are pulling for me. Maybe there is still hope. We'll see when I hook my trailer on the back and give it more of a workout...
That is exactly how I got my deuce. Prices for wranglers were crazy and then one youtube video led to another and then I was watching Deuces. The rest is history.
I can hook my M105A2 trailer up to the truck. I have a lot of weight in the back of that. Maybe that will make it grunt a little more out on the road and help seat the rings. Take it for another 75 mile ride and measure the results with a leak down tester. When I put the cylinders and pistons...
An 8.3 would take a lot more work to install than a new multifuel. Plus the whole part about running 100% diesel isn't attractive. An old 6-71 Detroit would be fun, yet I don't know if it would fit. I would give another multifuel a chance though before I did all of that. Its fun to brain storm...
My pistons were difficult to move in the cylinders as well. Take lots of pictures of your rebuild. I'll follow it and if I see anything from my experiences, I'll let you know. I hope you have better luck than I did.
I would if I wouldnt get pulled over by the PO9. I just have a feeling that could turn to crap. This whole truck rebuilding had turned to crap. Money pit with the same blowby. sorry if i sound cranky. im just sick of it not working right, sick of TJN Murray giving me the run around and not...
TNJ Murray. I called them numerous times and they said they would call me back and have my talk to one of their mechanics but that has never happened. they said they never had anybody complain about their kits not working. I have raw data showing my issue. If I could do it over, if my pistons...
Sorry about not getting updates as quick as we all would like. I understand.
I was not able to use the dyno, so I just took the truck out on the highway today to break it in. Right off the bat I heard a loud ticking when I pulled out of the driveway. It sounded more like a compression leak than...
My update is the truck is all together and sitting in my driveway. Everything is put together, fuel lines flushed with diesel and the tank is about half full. I still have not fired the engine. All I need to do is flip the switch and hit the red button. I was hoping I could use that dyno but the...
Do you have pictures of the LDT rocker arms and the LDS rocker arms? I adjusted the valves on and LDS engine and they were the same part number stamped on them as the ones on my LDT.
