I should have said - not mentioned in the operators/maintenance TM's that I have read on this forum or have in hard cover.... Not telling you what I "think" I should have said!!!!
But thanks...
Just got a set of 3 spreader bars #5 for the cupola soft top hoops (#6).
These things are not shown in the Operators TM's and are relatively rare. Getting lost with the soft tops I guess.
Pretty simple in construction, a turned plug welded into tube.
I know JT (Jatonka) is getting soft tops...
REALLY! You have all this fabrication with new cabs and stuff and stuff and more stuff..... I think jealousy of a little computor graphic time is limited to you alone!!!
... but I am glad to assist with "the visuals"... :-D If you need 'visualising' with more parts of your truck - try - if...
9/16" .... ?
How did you measure that - across the smallest size (flats) or the largest size:
.. V
.OO
OOO smallest measurement (and correct way to measure cable)
.OO
.. ^
or
... OO
>|OOO|< largest measurement
... OO
I think you may have 1/2".....
Scottie - I don't know a lot about Gar Wood winches but purely based upon the fairlead, it looks like a dozer rear winch setup though that angle iron behind the drum wouldn't be there for a dozer.
You could try the Historic Military Vehicle Forum, though it is mainly a British site, that's...
Kind of difficult to get the scale and proportion right with available pics but I think above fender real estate is going to be sucked up by spare on one side and 'breathing' on other side.
Right or Left spare subject to plumbing.
Could put the spare on the roof inplace of 50 cal ring...
Dave - Soni is on the money for 'ramp over', HOWEVER, if your trail rises after the vertical wall then that would lift the belly over the wall.
There is a thread on loading a step deck trailer w/o ramps - so the finite answer, on the flat, will be what ever clearance you have when the tyres...
Will... my 2c :-
ok - so you aren't out any $$$ - remember this point...
seems more sentimental than usefull at this point...
Many holes - not just one so probably other holes ready to blow through - complete bottom could be 'thinned' by corosion...
sounds like chemical...
Soni - I "see" your Prarie engine and raise you a Union Pacific "Big Boy" (4-8-8-4), so unless you have a Bayer Garratt (4-8-4 4-8-4) to trump me - I win!!!
OK - now back to fantastic truck building...
Thanks for the heads up on the inverter, however the revues of this product are not 100% +ve....... 5:2 fore/against.
Just thought I'd add this incase people jumped without reading the revues.
I'm going with a small car alternator...
Politics and guns - REALLY!
Rather than hit the "Report Post" I thought I'd give my 2c.... I too am in "UpState" NY, but I feel that your post crosses the no political posts line and the firearms line on this - a military vehicle forum............JUDGES?
How about someone saying "we should...
Silly question, but why do you need one that is better than stock? (Before someone slams you for thinking you are smarter than the people who designed the engine and don't realise your situation)
.....Are you pulling more cfm's (with a Turbo)?
....Do you want the 'washable' kind so can save...
Post 193, pic #7 :- Very nice touch that you welded on the 'D' ring with the 'Made in USA' pointing out (may have been done to stop the raised letters dinging the paint if reversed).
I am assuming that the epoxy primer can be done in chilly weather - what kind did you use?
Beyond...
Not having been in the Canadian Army, I will stand corrected, BUT - I'd hazard a guess that it is for additional storage - maybe.
Aussies did the same with their 5 tons - sometime a water Jerry can, sometime other stuff....
