    Alternator conversion Kit

Go to gear-report.com. I have an article there on what to buy and how to install. I sourced 24v alt from amazon and parts from hardware store.

Recommendations for Hard Top - what to go with?

10k at least. Kidneys go for 15-20k. Or so I've heard. I have had some amtechs before and liked them.

Hard Start, white smoke despite good glowplugs and 24v at each lead??

Sounds like glow plugs not lighting and fuel supply. Didn't see if you changed your filters too.

ISO a mechanic St Augustine Fl

If you are going to sell them, would be good to know how to work on them somewhat.

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Replaced the front rotors and pads on the 1152. Currently refurbishing some early, one-off hard doors I picked up. Not sure who made them, but pulled apart and getting ready to put in a power window unit.

    Insulating Cab

I used fatmat sheets in the lmtv back when. It dropped db by about 10 which I thought was pretty good. It was 50mil I believe.

    Keith's M1078A1 Project Overland

After going through this entire thread, I am disgruntled that I sold my 1081 with shelter. This is a great vehicle. Nicely done.

Check out the application and review on gear-report.com. Jeff did that some time ago. Under the hmmwv mods section on his page.

Yeah I have used Simple green many times. It will help to scrape off as much thick buildup as you can before using the cleaners. Its not a fun job in my opinion lol. I haven't used the heat tape in this manner, but the silicone works well, is heat resistant and chemical resistant. Those vents...

For the "oil mud", just clean it off real good and then follow up to see what fluid it actually is. But oil loves dirt. And dirt loves oil. It will attract it and then more attaches and it piles up. I'd say its just a slight leak on the oil pan gasket. But you wont know until clean. Also on the...

CSM Army Tires vs Waiting for Aftermarket Wheels & Tires

I have called twice and left voicemails with no return to date. I also have a set of dodge 3500 steel rims that I am contemplating swapping over with 18" tires. Nearly identical offset, with many more choices in tires.

M1123 - Ragged armor holes on top of rear fenders

Yep. I put a thin piece of aluminum scrap under the holes, held it up with 2x4. Heated it up from above, and then used AL rod and let it dribble in like solder. Filled it pretty nice.

M1123 - Ragged armor holes on top of rear fenders

I have brazed a few holes up in the past. I don't have a tig welder so it worked pretty well for me.

    Fogged up plastic in soft-doors

I believe the 40 mil is correct. Most "decent" Jeep top vinyl is 40 mil. Should work out the same. When mine go south finally, I plan on doing tinted vinyl.

    Fogged up plastic in soft-doors

I had great luck with Meguiars plastic cleaner and lots of buffing. But most marine upholstery shops can get and replace the windows.

    Pulley squeak

The parts tm shows two different ones. The one I posted earlier, 3802287 ( no lip pulley) and 600637 (lip pulley). The lip pulley when I looked was out of stock most places, which is why I went with the other version. It fits correct and has no issues doing the job. Only difference is no...

    Pulley squeak

If you want to try non oem, cummins has this part #3802287. I can confirm it fits the 6.5 turbo engine. The pulley does NOT have the lip on this model, but no issues. I got it for around$55 shipped on ebay.
