    STARTER WOES

Its easy... just use tape to mark your depths on the drill bit. I seriously think I would just try a new starter first if the bolts are grabbing...

    STARTER WOES

I usually use the red type installing a HC... and blue going in with the bolt AFTER the other cures.

    Bee in my Bonnet

If its THAT bad I would do the harness... You start patching and piecing and your liable to set the whole thing ablaze... Only you know your ability. Personally I think nothing of snatching a troubled harness and replacing it... It saves so much work and annoyance!

    STARTER WOES

Info in general... The nose cones on these go bad and will not hold the knurl on the bots anymore after being reamed out, especially after coming loose so many times and no amount of helicoiling will fix that problem. No matter what the threads "look like" if the bolts bite on the block their...

    Identify This Alternator?

Like mentioned their all pretty much bricks and by looking at the pic where I would say the body on that thing is pretty massive the armature looks to be about the same size as the 60's and 100's so unless your going to abandon having a MV and go the civi route your not going to gain anything...

CUCV Build... Here We Go Again...

OK some pics... Window motor installed, door lock also... I'm liking this set up! Steering colum... completely dissembled, sand blasted, powder coated, switches all cleaned and lubed... ready to go back in. The start on the computer... Micro ATX, 12V 360 watt power supply (designed for...

CUCV Build... Here We Go Again...

A few reasons... 20+ year old parts... or a new reg, motor and switch is over $600.... None of which is the greatest in design ether. I went through the effort of replacing the lower rear sheet metal in the tail gate with 10 ga steel (damn rust!)... So mine is pretty bullet proof and ain't...

    Deuce Trans/Clutch trouble

Man... that is SWEET!!! LMFAO!!!! But yeah... putting the TC back into gear is sure easier than putting a clutch in!!

    Identify This Alternator?

I believe that is the 12V/24V version of the hummer alternator... May be the 200 amp jobber but you should post the NSN or PN for it. As for robing to much HP... I think a new mechanic is in order before a new alternator should be purchased! At least find one more knowledgeable with MV's as...

CUCV Build... Here We Go Again...

Hi radar, OD Iron is me, or I am ODI... how ever you want to say that. The kits are made specifically for CUCV's and retain the stock alternator set up. I am using one of these kits plus a rear unit added in as I know from installing several of these now that just the front set up "works" but...

CUCV 6.2L and HUMMUR 6.2L engines. Any differences?

You also have to change the water pump and timing cover over... Yes to the sending units, IP electrical... glow plug swap. Oil pan SHOULD fit pending your spring condition. (mine does) Just buy a full gasket set as you will need 90% of it anyways.

They are all listed in the CUCV Wiki which will eventually replace the FAQ sticky... But... Good point.

    m1009 sttarting problems

Did you try searching to find your answer or are you just being lazy and reposting a question that has come up 2 times a week, every week, for the past 4 years? A search for the term "truck will not start" in the CUCV forum yielded the following results with the answer your looking for on the...
