If its THAT bad I would do the harness... You start patching and piecing and your liable to set the whole thing ablaze... Only you know your ability.
Personally I think nothing of snatching a troubled harness and replacing it... It saves so much work and annoyance!

I believe that is the 12V/24V version of the hummer alternator... May be the 200 amp jobber but you should post the NSN or PN for it.

The kits are made specifically for CUCV's and retain the stock alternator set up. I am using one of these kits plus a rear unit added in as I know from installing several of these now that just the front set up "works" but...
You also have to change the water pump and timing cover over... Yes to the sending units, IP electrical... glow plug swap. Oil pan SHOULD fit pending your spring condition. (mine does) Just buy a full gasket set as you will need 90% of it anyways.
