I wouldn't even think of it as an option, but that's just me. The 3053A is kinda weak for the 2 1/2 ton trucks...
Plus you'll probably have more money into gathering extra parts and modifying everything to use that little transmission than just doing it right in the first place.
Good 'un gimp. A litte predictable, though... ;-) And I did see that -348 trailer. I think he's using it for storage right now.
I should be there sometime sturday morning with kip and a new guy. Just for the day.
I wonder what the chances are of finding a 5th wheel van trailer for sale this weekend? I'm thinking of driving the 818 and wouldn't mind dragging something home...
They use four 6tl's in series/paralell. Battery explosions are not unheard of when you try to use two... Especially in cold weather.
The t-case is a sprag, but instead of using a linkage to tell it to go in forard or reverse, it uses air.
:shock::jumpin:
I'm not sure. I gotta see if I can find the last thread he posted them in.
*EDIT* Yup, same brand. His are the 32-12-35's though. Mine is a 32-12-50. From what I've read, it's really good stuff.
There's another one to put in the "things I didn't know" file!
One of my uncles pulls a dump trailer... I think I'll go take a look at his setup the next time I see him.
Interesting stuff.
I don't have a clue, I just hauled it off for the guy. I'm guessing it was fairly inexpensive.
I'm pretty sure it is. Don't know the model number or anything, though.
It was mounted sideways under the "commander's" seat with room to spare.
Put the whole setup on a laundry trailer. Compressor, blaster, abrasives, breathing apparatus, hand tools, etc... Do you really think a 105 could handle all that? And with 4 landing legs, you'll have a nice stable platform to work from.
I pulled this beauty home for a friend on friday, but have been too busy to post it up. On the tow the 818 took a bit to get it up to speed on surface streets. Once I hit the interstate the dang thing pulled like a locomotive.
And I got a nifty 50 amp peak (40 nomial) 24v to 12v power...
