Interesting. Doubt you did, but did you document the build? Would be nice to share, if you did.

How to add a liter of displacement to your CAT for about $170

Ah, that's grounds for more testing! lol

How to add a liter of displacement to your CAT for about $170

In the past, blankets were used to keep hoods from blistering paint and of course, heat soak reduction of other components. I don't think performance was a primary consideration initially.

I have joined the club ! And yes I have lost my mine !

I had one of those HF winches. Gave it to a friend. It seemed to struggle a lot. I have 2 HF 5k winches and a 18k, and they are great.

How to add a liter of displacement to your CAT for about $170

This was a very interesting video. They looked at how turbo blankets impacted the power output of an engine. Beware of cheap, fake "blankys" on net. Go with something like a PTP. I believe there are a number of different turbos, including borg-warners, 225hp, 275hp, 290hp etc. Guess we will...

Air brake connections- Teflon paste or Teflon tape?

I'm not sure these are the correct products IF you are replacing your Haldex Midland brake manifold control with the latest version. The newer products are NOT a metal manifold. They are a plastic composite. These two sealers appear to be metal to metal.

Air brake connections- Teflon paste or Teflon tape?

I spoke with Haldex this AM. Nice guy. He stated that the only approved sealant for the composite manifolds is pipe dope, or PST565. NO TEFLON TAPE. NO RED LOCTITE.

Air brake connections- Teflon paste or Teflon tape?

"red" Loctite 492145 545 Pneumatic/Hydraulic Thread Sealant, but it is only compatible with metal. The air brake control manifold npt connections from Haldex appear to be nylon. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003XZB54O?tag=duckduckgo-exp-b-20&linkCode=osi&th=1&psc=1

Air brake connections- Teflon paste or Teflon tape?

What is the DOT standard for NPT connections on air brake systems? Teflon paste or Teflon tape or either?

    Transmission rebuild

Oh man. You have to be very brave to work on a transmission. Did it once (not an Alison), never again! Even if you watch a video, there are tons of subtleties (problem areas) that you need to be trained on. Tight clutch packs, wrong steels, kevlar clutches vs the typical, Blah Blah blah. 1...

    Our MTVR camper:

I used the West System to make and seal a hot tub. Amazingly strong. The Gougeon Brothers (they make the West System) are good people : )

    Better fasteners for interior

Old thread, but has anyone sized the very small screws that hold the panel that holds the front plate to the switch panel above the heater. Looks like an M3, but I'm not sure.
