So as to not take over this thread... More on the rifle barrel clamp, why no bottom, etc. http://gear-report.com/humvee-upgrade-how-to-make-an-easy-diy-hmmwv-rifle-rack
I believe that is a Vortex Viper 4-16x50. Will have to check, as we move optics around a lot, depending on what sort of shooting or testing we are doing.
More on the rifle here: http://gear-report.com/ar-15-custom-rifle-build-2016
We use a lot of large optics, which made it interesting sorting...
Don't know what a "cutoff line" is.
From the ad: "Input: 12-24V DC"
I'll check to be sure, but I believe the glass has "DOT" in raised letters at the top.
Regardless, the ones I removed weren't DOT approved... nor is much of the truck. :)
Will see how they do in the dark in a few minutes.
Made some DIY single rifle racks, one for each of the front seats.
Took out my Trucklite LEDs and installed a different set of LED headlights (these http://amzn.to/2gZGZLP)
Ok. For now I'll monitor and assume that I somehow screwed up the t-case fluid level when I did the t-case cooler bypass.
I think the transmission being low was my mistake after syphoning some fluid out after checking it when it wasn't fully warmed up. Coincidence that the t-case was high by the...
This is odd.
Pulled the fill plug on the t-case and got about a quart of fluid out of it.
After bypassing the t-case cooling loop a couple of weeks ago the fluid in the t-case was level with the bottom of the fill hole.
... and I checked the transmission after driving yesterday and it was about...
I am hoping it is residual fluid in the vent line.
When it first started dripping trans fluid under the air cleaner I determined the t-case cooling loop was leaking by checking t-case and finding an extra quart+ above the fill plug. I let it drain until it was at the fill plug.
I will...
What can cause transmission fluid to leak from the air cleaner?
1987 M1038, 6.2, 3 speed
When it first happened a few weeks ago I assumed it was the "transfer case vampire" and bypassed the t-case cooler loop. So, I know it can't be that.
What else could it be?
Also, no idea if related or...
I am pretty new at this myself. However, my guess is that the glow plugs are staying on whenever the switch is on Run, instead of turning off after the engine has and is producing heat.
Maybe one of the more experience folks can explain how to safely check to see if the glow plugs are still...
I found a test procedure for the old GPC (checking continuity or resistance across different pins in the GPC), but it doesn't work on the new TSUs. Haven't located a way to check the TSU. I figured for $25 I'd get a new TSU (all my glow plugs were fried) just in case.
Also, I was having the...
