I have a 90 6BT going in my OH9. It uses the grid. They are more reliable and less maint. than GPs. However, if you were to fab one up on your CUCV, would you just plug the GP holes?

Good Trip! For the OP and all others that travel, I suggest downloading GASBUDDY APP on your smartphone. It shows all the gas prices near you, cheapest to most expensive etc...That's what we use when we travel.
Happy Trails,
Dave
Does anyone know, or can find, what the BTU and CFM rating is for the civi stock setup? The OPs posted link states 15000 BTU and 290 CFM, and i was wondering if that's close to the stock output, or half? or ????
Thanks,
Dave
Hey SS,
I am buying a spare starter to keep in the Oh9. Some of you have recommended DB Electrical on EBAY. there 24v Gear Reduction is 90 bucks right now. Says it's new. Is this the good one, or Chinese Junk? Or should I spend $200 from CNC Electrical?
Thanks,
Dave
Mistaken1,
I've read and re-read this post many times, and yet I am still uncertain. For my set up I have a 4 gauge coming off the front battery and running to my fuse blocks, pictured below. The fuse blocks are grounded as seen to the body. I am running a slew of items off of these and have...
I noticed you are using flux-core. With the right wire, an experienced welder can make this clean. No offense at all-you're doing a great job regardless.
If you have access to a MIG you can get better results.
This was taken from Denny at WeldingWeb.com regarding body welding.

Hey guys/girls,
Little update on mods. Built a center console this weekend. It holds an ice chest as well, which doubles as an armrest. Inverter and 12v/usb up front.
Also added some 7" Hellas to the front.
And added another FAK. I put it on the driver side door. My fullsize FAK is in the...
Come spring, I'm taking a couple months off to do a road trip around the US with my Oh9, so planning has began. And this is part of it. Sorry to the OP for hi-jacking.

I read the rules and I beleive it is ok to say the following, I have once before. If I am mistaken, please correct me.
If you wheel a lot, the way we do-road trips and adventures every weekend in another part of the state or different states, then you should check out Trails.com. It's 50...
I carry a Hi-Lift and an Aluminum 1.5 ton Harbor Freight floor jack. Two reasons, the floor jack is easy to use and relatively safer than alternatives. The hi-lift will work in precarious situations that the floor jack would not. Point taken-I used the Hi-lift last night when I got stuck in a...
No, that's the wierd thing. At speed all is fine, on throttle, off throttle, doesn't matter...It only happens at deceleration at slow speeds. I don't think the T-Converter could be intermittent, if there is air in the fuel line it MAY be intermittent, but could the IP be intermittent?
Thanks...
yep, you'll have room. You can get the parts from a parts truck, suburban, or other K5. Easy. Or buy new. I would recommend getting the new 10 cylinder compressor. The OEM was 6 cylinder. I think LMC has them IIRC.
Good luck and thanks for your service.
Dave
jag7720,
How/where do you plan on putting the condenser and blower? Since all the 24v stuff is on the firewall? I was going to do your same set up, and use an OD Iron or Vintage Air, but I just bought a Cummins 6bt for my Oh9, so I can ditch the 24v stuff and use the stock condenser/blower...
The truck wants to stall only when i decelerate: ie, coming up to a stop, slowing to turn a corner.
I spoke to my diesel mechanic, and he stated since the truck idles fine in Neutral, the motor is doing what it is supposed to. He was not certain, but said it maybe that the torque converter is...
