    M1008 upgrade

Of course the canvas top should fit. The beds are standard beds of practically the same size. The trailer looks nice and is in the legal Army limit for a M1008. Go on with your effords! At 70 mph the M1008 starts to dink a lot of Diesel, 60 mph is for my oppinion the better choise. Wolf

    Another M151 windshield question

For further identification: Where are the pics? May be the question is fully answered already...? For me not necessarily. Wolf

    question about pintle rotation

Thanks for the reply. Your recommanded limit odf an unbraked trailer of 1500 lbs clearly show me that your Jeep conforms to FMVSS 135. There the maximum weight of an unbraked trailer is limited to 1500 lbs or roughtly 750 kg. This is identical with ECE R 13H. Both regulations have the same...

    sudden oversupply of m923's ??

Hey, these M923 and so forth trucks are some 25+ years old and of course do not fullfill the requirements any more: Soft body, no crew protection, outdated engine, to hight fuel consumption, semi auto transission a peace of history, axle designe from the late 50's. And even for trucks the maker...

    question about pintle rotation

For your understanding it brakes nice, however not according to the requirements of FMVSS 135. The 9.00-16 8 Ply Rating tires are good for a tire load of some 3000 lbs at 400 kPa tire pressure. The small cracs in the side wall are not very dangerous. On my trailer the oldest tire is from 1968...

    question about pintle rotation

E-brakes, hm, your choise. The US design is not legal over here. And I would not use them. The unbraked trailer allowance for any modern civil Jeep is, as far as I remember, limited to 1000 lbs by the manufacturer due to the requirements of the FMVSS 135. The split rim of 6.5 x 16 is not a...

    Deuce Wrecker, Davey-style!

Yes, there was that threat. However, I would not do it the way that guy did it. The towing vehicle is not made for that. From this point of view the towing of a scrap car with the Deuce is on the safe side. Wolf

    question about pintle rotation

The only trailers I know with rotating lunette is the Bantam T2, the M100 and their derivates. The M416 also has a rotating lunette, the M416 A1 not. A braked axle is a good idea, however you need the surge brake head for that. And that has not rotating lunette, for the corresponding miiltary...

Looks like the Deuce needs some attention, too, some paint work... Wolf

    M2 Half track Restro starts

Looks like a BIIIIG lot of work. However, nice to see someone tries to bring such a peace back to live. Try hard. Any luck you need for the project! Wolf

    Kraz 255b

To come back to the oil question: A 15W40 mineral oil will be fine. Otherwise in Winter you should use a 10W oil, if temperatures are blow 0 centigrade, in summer a 30W oil will do it as well. Or as mentioned, for all seasons in Greece a 15W40 oil is fine. The cheepest you can by will do it...

    N Scale train

N-scale is fine, especially for loooong trains on small places. I have N trains for different reasons. H0, like the lay out of Derrickl112 is also nice. However, as somebody commanded, it is to be taken to notice, that a correct scale lay out of a military compound as a tank farm can not be...
