As far as wetstacking, or even the rust issue, with the j pipe, would'nt a small drilled weep hole fix both issues? Would there be any drawbacks , other than a access for water if you were driving through the lake?

My thought was to use the flex lines from the wheel cylinders ,then hard line the brakes to the master cylinder on the surge coupler. The surge coupler would be a ball mount so the lunette is deleted and so is the air system.
JC Whitney used to sell a drum (smaller than the wheel) that you bolted on the hub and used like a winch. I have seen two used at a time to pull a vehicle very straight.
