a slide hammer puller works well for pulling the axle tube seal and retainer out.
a older thread titled "slight issue with XM818" has a few pictures of the process.
if you cap it off tight you will not like the outcome.
it needs to be vented or the brakes may apply themselves so to speak.
some will disagree with me on this but i have more than one first hand expiereance with this.
I have been messing with my M35 fuel rate a bit lately.
pyro is pre turbo.
it takes a fairly good grade with full pedal to get the egt to 1150.
smokes like a coal burner when under full load.
i will leave it alone now.
next thing i will be talking about will probly be changing...
I dont know what the rpm's were but i followed a couple of SS members out of Evansville a couple years ago. they were in their M35's and i was in my super duty.
they were running 65 mph plus.
and they did this all the time.
is there a civy replacement for the output shaft seal on the Deuce transmission?
I wouldnt mind ordering from a surplus dealer but i really need to use this truck and didnt want to wait a week to get the seal.
I just spent 1/2 hour using the search and came up with nothing that helps me.
i tend to over kill on safety.
the lift/pull chains are the larger type Mil wrecker chains.
the verticle safety chains are grade 100 and they are attachted to the boom at the shive point. they are there so if the cable breaks the towed unit will not hit the ground.
then i use horizontal...

all of the dumps that i have pulled have a fixed pin like any other trailer.
