thanks.
i was surprized how heavy this little unit is.
the brakes are the same type as my first dolly. and they WORK! all the lights work also!
the M36 bed would be a cool idea.
I wont have time to get to it for a while so the plans will change many times by the time i get to it.
rite at that point in time, i was feeling that way.
400 miles from home with a 30,000 pound truck misbehaving, 100 degrees temp and going on the 3rd day of no sleep.
Glad you made it!
and it IS better to have a friend along to share in the expieriance.
I dont know how many times Lane talked me out of shooting the M819 and sticking my thumb out! It has been my problem child.
I looked at the frame and at first i thought that someone had welded the extra straps of steel to it. but after looking more closely, it was made that way.
the trailer will handle whatever weight the tires will take.
the landing gear is way cool.
I dont really have any plans for it rite...
here is a shot of my M818WW tach o graph.
I dont run the ole girl above 2100 very often.
I know these old Cummins hate the r's.
sorry for the poor shot.
this thing doesnt hold very still.
My M127's , M131a4, M146's, M270 and 2 of the M119's all have the problematic air over hyd brakes. the only 5th wheel type military trailer i have with straight air is one of the M119s and it's a 1952.
yes my fire truck has 5 ton Rockwell's with air lockers in all 3 and a power divider on the tandems!
this is why the torch cart is parked out there next to this truck.
the next time i have a weak moment it will get the ax.
the truck that gets these axles will be able to get really stuck!
