Orangeman, I don't remember the engine number but our fire department had a big Allis-Chalmers 6 cylinder diesel engine in it. It was a 30KW Military Surplus Generator. Saw alot of AC powerplants in crushers and such.

One thing to remember the rubber tracks are not worth a dang on snow and ice. I can remember watching the 113's sliding back down the hilly roads in Germany.

Well got off the jacks and some tires on it and rolled it out of the shjop for the first time in a year:D Like the LOW Rider halftrack:cool: Hope to PSI wash next week then prep and paint.

I've been doing some suspension work and ran across a unique repair. I'm resonably sure my half track went through a rebuild in the 1950's I don't know if this repair was military or it was done by the old millwright at the mill where this thing lived

Well this whole life thing really gets in the way of the restoration. Finally got back to working on the track. That last major componet is out and on it's way to the rebuilder. A few more items and the frame is on it's way to the paint shop. :jumpin::jumpin:

1010Plowboy asked me to move my pic's over here. 1951 M 135. Converted to a fire truck. 1000 gallon tank, (I believe is original to the truck) 250 gpm pump.
Belonged to the Crow Valley FD

Thanks, I actually like driving the 135 better then my M36A2. It's quieter and it drives better. It's more comfortable too. I put the spray bar on the front so I can water my roads. It gets it out and gets it some exersize. Can't afford to liecense it except during the summer.

I normally hang out on the Armor forum but the weather finally turned hot thought I'd better get the Fire Truck out of the barn. This M135 was modified by some pretty talanted millwrights. Was a first out engine in the 60's and 70's retired as a Brush Rig. I bought it sealed bid for a really...
I rebuilt the hydrovac on mine, I maybe building a second halftrack, one thing I learned: I'll have my second one rebuilt by a shop that does that. I'm glad I did the first one but have NOOOOOO desire to build another one.
It's nice when the boss also likes your project, make things so...
Congrat's on the halftrack!! There is also some real good info and help over on the G503 and the Halftrackinfo.com website Several of the guys here are over there. Be sure and post pictures:drool:

Well had to take a little hiatus, had to get some home work done for the boss. Keeping the boss happy is veeeeeery important. Any way parts are going back on.

When I was over Germany in the seventies I got some shots of fenced compounds of all kinds of armor waiting to be drug out onto the range. Most of them would have started up with a little work.:driver:

Hi Scott, that looks like fun. I won't be able to make it this year. Our club is having a big camp at our house over the 4th. So the boss has me scheduled out for some R&R. I hope to have my track up at the convention next year. :jumpin:
