RE: winches
We were just given a winch for our deuce but we don't have any of the parts needed to go with it. Where could we go to find all the needed parts?

What's a "new in the can" motor for a deuce worth? I've found one that is in a sealed can with turbo, starter, alternator, and clutch, built in '92. Any ideas?
I was stopped in Texas pulling a deuce with a one ton Ford. It was license and weight. He looked at our rig before he came up to talk to us. When he finally came up to the tow rig he just said that he was checking log books, and sence we had farm tags, there was no problem. Have a nice day!
Works every time! With the proper size, it just takes a minute. It was interesting to find out that the shaft was tapered. That's why it doesn't just fall out after you loosen the nut.
Thanks for the help.
I used Mystery oil to lubricate a bunch of pneumatic tools. It worked great until it started drying out leaving a thick residue behind. I had to replace all the o-rings in a bunch of tools and cylinders.
I wonder if, now that you have documented the fact that you know that his load was unsafe, you could be held liable? Would be an interesting point in court.
Tools
You never know where some of the tools come from. I have a craftsman (Sears) vacuum guage that has a swastika stamped into the brass fitting inside the case.
I would think you would also have to consider the angle of the king pin to the centerline of the tandem. If you get behind the centerline, you are putting a lot more leverage on the rear of the frame. This would tend to take a lot more weight off the front axle when torque is applied. The...
I was watching this one. It went about 30 minutes overtime. Whoever was bidding against the high bidder didn't realize that he matched the high bid with his last bid. All he had to do was bid one more time and he would have won. However, sence he bid the identical amount of the high bidders...
I poured some odds and ends new ATF and motor oil in our deuce. It seemed to run better. I believe it lubricated the turbo and allowed it to spool up faster. It's amazing how many of us have half quarts of motor oil and ATF setting around in our garages.
RE: Re: M105 brakes locked
We played with the air in every configuration. I messed with the parking brakes, but couldn't tell if they were releasing or not. I'm inclined to think it might be the parking brakes. If I try all the possible fixes that all of you have come up with, surely one of...
Single air line
The data plate reads "M105A2", mfg. in '67, and it only has one air line. It also has the old style landing gear. I didn't take a camera with me and we didn't get it home, so no pics.
We were just given an M105A2. It has the single air line brake system. Both wheels are locked up. We tried rocking the trailer with the deuce, with and without the air hooked up. It's a little hard to pull like this! Does anyone have any ideas?
