I never got around to buying or finding someone with a truck to work with me. Just knowing what I do know about these winches a feet forward mount is the best. I have had customers break the winch casting by not having equal pressure on the mounting bolts thus cracking the casting. I have...
I have one a customer shipped me that was a nightmare for him. Wiring wrong, mixed 400 and 60 hz parts. Came out of Tier 2 reset and has 6 hours on it! Some days I just wonder why some people get to use a screw driver!
I have a few left. These are heavy aluminum (3/16" thick), that are laser cut and bent. I will see how much I have in them. They were not cheap as it took a whole sheet to make one.
Maybe you should look at my new hood design and screen the intakes. You won't need a shed at that point. You can build a small fence to hide it if that is also part of your goal. Sorry I didn't have a pic on my phone with the flap installed. Just a rod rolled into the flap and a weak...
I have 1 5kw and 3 10kw units available in various condition. The best 10k with upgrades and improvements to them are $4500 to $5K. That being said they have spay in attenuation, bug screening, on board charging, solar charging, improvements to airflow, exhaust hoods so no snow, pine straw...
Like everything else you ship build a crate and ship it in it. I have found many for free or very cheap on craigslist. We all know from experience the best forklift drivers don't work at trucking distribution terminals. Anything on an open pallet is fair game for damage and theft.
Thinking about making an 802 version since I am rebuilding one now. I asked the owner if he wants one. Waiting on a decision. Fun to build things but better to sell them :)
I put it on by myself :) Easy to do.I cheated and used two padded wood working clamps on the exit side to rest on top of the generator at the right height. Then it was easy to walk around and put all the bolts in. I changed the heat shield by myself after the hood was on! I put rivnuts in the...
Right on top of the lid connection. I just used longer bolts :) I went ahead and changed mine to 1/4 bolts while I was doing it. Pretty much just unscrew the bolts and pick it up. Now I did put like 6 layers wide of packing tape above that air filter and below the holes so shavings would not...
Well I finally got around to making a new hood for the MEP 803a. Now there were several specifications that I had to meet.
1) Aluminum Construction.
2) Could take a tree medium branch strike without caving in.
3) Keeps water out of the engine exhaust
4) keeps leaves and snow out of the air...
I sold one 20k unit to a road construction company several years ago that just needed the engine for their air compressor. This Perkins engine has been used in various farm and commercial equipment.
The stator is 12KVA or 12 x .8 is approximately 10kw. Now that is 12000 watts. I assume you are checking current via an amp meter. The meter on the unit may be off. 16k is way too much of an inductive load to run on a 10k generator. You can damage the stator. Just because it is military...
Some mounts I make
I make mounting plates for many vehicles. I have them in 5/8 or 3/4" thickness. I laser them so they are exact and every bolt gets the same stress in the mounting plate. I would highly recommend that you reinforce the frame and bumper when you extend them. I wrap the...
Forget the wellnut guys. Put in a bulkhead fitting and never look back. It is so easy even I can do it. I no longer use wellnuts on anything. Not even water tanks. For $10 bucks more you have a permanent fix. Vitron will not dissolve in diesel. Save money on something that doesn't matter...
You could also use 1" acoustical fiberglass to replace the radiator sound deadening foam. Just spay the face of it with clear flex seal as the rubberized coating will create a rubberized film over the face of the fiberglass. This will keep the face from fraying from the exhaust air. Also...
