I have had a few MEP's that the power meter was considerably off with the actual load. Not a big deal unless you are tripping out at what your meter says is 90% and your real load is an over 135%. Easier to gauge now that you have a load bank to test with and not a changing live load.
So you may want to test the current going to the power meter and see if it is correct if you think your are pulling 12kw and the meter is showing 80 to 90%. That should be 120%. This is an ammeter. power factor is the conversion of KVA to KW. A 3 phase 12Kva generator with a 0.8 power factor...
I am working on silicon replacement hoses for both upper and lower. The anti-collapse springs are stainless and are inside the hose wall not inside the fluid path inner liner like the springs were. The smooth fluid liner inside the hose (Working temperatures are from -50 °C to +170°C, peaking...
I use a Warn 83086 rated at 36k with an 8" sheave with my 18k winches. Smitty (Red) claimed to take the load but the sheave was too small and so was the snatch block. I would just make sure your sheave is large enough in diameter to prevent damage to the cable. Recommended size is 8" for EIPS...
Well this will not be cheap by any means but I am going to R&D it on two of my generators (802 and 803). It will cost around $200 per hose for the tooling. I ordered two lower hoses for testing in hopes of not having to make a custom one. I also purchased parts to make and test 2 upper hose...
I guess the guys at GP tried to crank it and got a surprise as there was some fuel and fluids in it. They probably put the tag on it. Just thought it might brighten someones day that did conquer a problem that someone else gave up on and passed along to others.
Well I was thinking about all the things we find repairing our generators when I got one in with a fuel leak tag on the front panel. A 2008 with 200 hours, been thru reset and was looking really good. I wondered what required such a tag then I saw it when I opened the door and the fuel water...
I learned this as a child from a one eyed mechanic that lost his eye to a car battery accident. He would say remember this! Batteries are a NO NO! Neg Off Neg On!
Generator sets are rated in kVA at 0.8 power factor lagging.
This 0.8 power factor is not the load power factor. It is a nominal power factor used to calculate the kW output of an engine to supply the power for a particular kVA output.
Example:
output (kVA) : 100 kVA
Engine power output...
The upper is a 32MM 1.25" to 28MM 1.12" hose with a 28mm id. The lower is a 1.25" id hose. I have put flex rubber hoses on it that I picked up at Advanced. It would work. See pics. I am waiting to find out how much more a direct replacement or a cuffed silicon hose for the lower.
I just repaired an 802 that had a bad battery (half the positive post was blown off). Lots of corrosion on the starter. The paint was also off the engine below the starter. I pulled the starter and cleaned the engine and compartment just like you need to do. I also prepped any areas that...
Ok guys, I sent Viper the specs on the hose for a 500 piece run. I am waiting to hear if they have ever done these or one similar. Everyone that owns an 802 or 803 should look at this this is a cost savings over the long run. Change your hoses and put in a very good 5 year / 150,000 mile diesel...
Don't give up! There are several manufacturers that will make any silicon hose you want and would be happy to take money without all the GOV bs. Better than rubber and will last as long as the generator. Money well spent. One is in the UK and makes the best hose. They need a distributor in...
