You might want to check you rear springs. It is my understanding that TOW jeeps had heaver springs in them and therefore when empty would ride higher and different. On m151A1 it was a concern because of the toe in caused by the heaver springs on the A-arms, on the A2 it may not be as bad, but...
WOW that is really coming together. I hope to see the finished truck in person someday...maybe at one of the local vehicle shows. Or if you ever feel like taking on a drive to Cleveland come on up and sit a spell... :) Are you planning on replacing the wood in the tail gate or did you feel...
Find two Ultimas that fit and put them in. But the correct answer was the 6TLs where the "factory" batteries. I've seen some M211 and M132s running "jeep" batteries with two 2HNs which is why I said Ultimas. I have seen national guard units that have put ultimas in place of GI batteries as...
When I had a M151 it was done up as an MP Jeep. I painted the plate number on the spare tire plate and on the front bumper. I then carried the plates in the tool box under the passenger seat. Worked great looked great too. The man who changed that law was a state rep who has a large MV...
Looks like you removed the ROPS kit out of it. Good for you! I think the truck looks better without the ROPS in it. Any pics of fixing the holes in the back corners from the kit?
You got two antennas where are the radios? I know you've been posting about this truck for some time and if I remember correctly you got one truck some assembly required because it had been taken apart into a gazillion pieces. Am I correct on this? The truck looks great.
I would have to research the ORC on this but off the top of my head I would have to think that if you're buidling a truck from parts you will have to make it a kit car to get it titled. Then again there are loopholes I've heard people use before but I am not sure they are legal. I'm not a...
After you cut the tank open you should sandblast it and weld up pin holes then weld the top back on and not worry about fitting another tank inside it. To me it seems less work to do what I just typed than to try and make that tank work....but that's just my way of thinking. Your truck do as...
Is it an already title vehicle from another state? If it is then all you will need to do is go to an OSHP inspection station and get the vehicle inspected. Then take the inspection and the title to the title place and get it put in your name. If it is an untitled truck then you have a bigger...
That looks good. It's my understanding that when the ma duce was fired from the M151 it would shake the snot out of the truck because of the independent suspension. I don't know if that is true or not, but a few vets have told me that.
When I worked as a glazer we used glass cement which was basically contact cement in a tube so it was a little thicker than the can. Barge Cement or Seal All come to mind as two of the brands we used. I'm not sure if this is what they ment or not in the manual. A google search didn't bring up...
Seeing that rims and tires from M35 series trucks will bolt on to the M135 I see no reason why the stock rim and tires from teh M35A3 would not bolt on. Now will they rub on anything I couldn't tell you. I would think you would just have to try and see what happens. Know anyone with a M35A3...
I think what the video shows is that in order to put the Dmax and allison trans into a vehicle the trans cover will have to be modified. The only other thing to consider will be where to mount the coolers...the oil the intercooler the trans cooler etc. If you do go ahead with this project...
The truck is 24V so if your getting 48V at the head lamp then somewhere in the wire harness the low beam wire (16 or 17 I forget which) and the high beam (17 or 18 I forget) have to be hooking up in series in order to get 48V. I would start tracing the harness wire to see where your getting the...
