I see so many different opinions on crossing chains, DOT laws etc....just for the fun of it, i go by what i was taught. Crossed safety chains is a must, i dont always cross load chains, but that depends on the type of load, the weight of the load, and where im able to latch onto it. I play by...
...Id still sleep in it lol...when i was in Germany running US mail my A3 was a regular cab and at some APO's i had to sit and wait 4-6 hours for the return mail so i would try to sleep. hard to do in an A3 with those bostrom air ride seats....a small coffin box sleeper like this one would have...
Yah, Im gonna call it the "Smoke Wagon", since its my truck, and i was called SmokeWagon....figured it fitting. The "nose art" will be a covered wagon with 2 rather derelict/ragged looking horses, and blazing gun barrels of some sort sticking out the back. Havent quite drawn it out yet but i...
So having decided a few months ago to turn my M109A3 into a guntruck, i have made a little progress. After trading the box for a bed and installing the bed, i had to rebuild my transmission. While she was in the Garage getting mended, i started painting it black. I didnt do much for paint...
LOL i agree about fugly..i wasnt gonna say it. But dont knock the A/C man....when i was deployed to Iraq, i LOVED my A/C and all the other people on base hated me when i drove by with my windows up. I know it seems like a luxury and $$$ but in reality, the military opted for the A/Cs on these...
I notice there in your first set of pics, the last one looking at the seats and dash from in the sleeper area, i see alot of exposed wiring/airlines for the seats that are kinda out there in the middle of everything....in my experiences, whenever there is wiring/lines out like that, Joe will...
I must say Top, thems some good looking rigs...i had a brand new A3 in '03 and put over 100K on it before i left Germany. I loved that truck. These look like its got some up-armor underneath the cab there..is that what that is? Always fun to get new trucks in the Army....being the first one to...
lol..i was cleaning out my garage this weekend, and i found my old copy of the rail tie down TM...and the Truck tie down TM i kept in my truck at all times....
That sucks! I read the story, then the comments below. The comments just made me mad. I mean how do people associate an air race crash to politics, religion, or race? And people complaining that the pilot was too old. The people in this country now-a-days just seem to be on a serious decline in...
Sounds like you got it covered, but i will say that relying on the first truck to tow the second one that far seems like a pretty big gamble to me. But i wish you luck! Ive never towed a Deuce with another Deuce before so i cant say what to expect...all my flat tow experience has been 5 ton or...
Well the transmission is back in, and works like a charm. I had some trouble getting the clutch linkage adjusted right....it didnt work like in the manual, if i put it one spline to the rear of the centerline, then the center of the pin wasnt 3 1/4" from the bellhousing...so i just put it 3 1/4"...
I dont know bout florida, but you are correct in the assumption that these trucks do not have titles. Maybe a FL member can give you some heads up on how to tile/register your beast when you get it.
Nice looking 379....i wished i had access to one of them when i was rec'erin my deuce lol. Although that woulda been a might tough to get in my driveway.
