Question about picking up a deuce...

Also, it helps that the software company I work for wrote the software most county clerks (MV registration) use... without us, they'd be back in the stone age!!

Question about picking up a deuce...

I'm bidding on one that WILL start, according to the site... so perhaps I can hold them to that if something vital "goes missing." Also, it wouldn't be a vehicle worth owning if something didn't go wrong!

    Deuce Shopping at Smyrna.

I'm bidding on one :) Please don't bid on it! It would be my first! (but I shall not divulge which one)

Question about picking up a deuce...

Ok, so on to the SF-97... Do I obtain that at the site when I take delivery? Or can I get that from GL and have it completed with my EUC, then have registration, ins & tags taken care of from day one?

Question about picking up a deuce...

RE: truck Wow... I guess I never thought how many people must do that. That was the second phone call I made. (First was to clear it with the executive branch, aka wife). Well, I'm the high bidder so far! (only an hour and 10 minutes in, lol)

Question about picking up a deuce...

RE: truck Heh... guess I should have provided more information. Breakdowns are low on my list of worries. I'm pretty competent mechanically when it comes to vehicles, and I'm no stranger to large diesel engines. Edit: I also plan to upgrade my AAA to include their RV coverage, should I win...

Question about picking up a deuce...

I'm (hopefully) going to buy a deuce in this next run of auctions from Smyrna, TN. They're all stated to run/drive, all were driven on base. Some say they may need a jump; I plan on taking two new exide blems with me, should I win, anyways. I've called and gotten binding coverage to get it...

    M1061A1 5 ton trailer questions

Dragging up the dead here... What's the difference between one of these and a M796? I know the 796 has a 4 ton rating vs. the 1061, but is it lighter or heavier? Still thinking vs. the 332. :) Thanks guys.

    M-332 Questions

Ok, looks like the long search for the "right truck" may be coming to a close with this next batch of trucks from Smyrna (hopefully)! Now I've recently got the bug to buy a trailer, too. The M105 is great, but I want a 332 for some strange reason :) What's a fair price to pay for one just...

    Where could one find/procure....

They were originally designed for use as a cargo/genset/searchlight transport. This one has just been converted to be a covered picnic table (kinda heavy at 5,100 lbs. for a portable patio...)

    Where could one find/procure....

One of these babies? I'm kind of a trailer nut. I love any kind of cool-looking trailers behind a great looking truck. What better combo than the deuce with this? Oh, it's a Fruehauf (sp?) M-7 series trailer (link).

Pics of my singled 5-ton with 16-20's - just finished!

Any lack of power up hill? Had any loads in it?

Just curious, which engine do you have in that beast? Great looking truck. I am also envious 8)

New to the world of the Deuce

Hey thanks for the tips! I'm not looking to make 500 hp or anything like that, but I'd like to think that one could make a reliable 250 hp with around 500 lb-ft torque. My end goal is to have a deuce suitable for OTR use, capable of towing a reasonable-sized (33-38 ft) travel trailer for the...

New to the world of the Deuce

Hi all! Long-time (read 1 year) reader, and just recently decided to join. I'm currently in the process of searching for that special deuce that just appeals to me. In my searching, I've come to find that a deuce may seem *ahem* underpowered at times. Being a torque nut (looking at...
