    Heading to the East Coast

Well.... after a couple of hours a mobile mechanic was able to get me back on the road. The high pressure line on my oil pump broke. The metal was brittle. Waiting to get the truck washed so I don't spend the rest of the drive worrying my truck will start on fire.

    Heading to the East Coast

I am west of Atlanta. I will ask the fella that is heading my way if that is something he can do. He told me my air box is going to be full of oil and there will be some things that need cleaning out. He said he can pull it off and have it rebuilt and have me back on the road for about $2,700.00.

    Heading to the East Coast

I will pull the driveshafts when I get to Charleston and have them balanced. I had read about them causing expensive damage. Thanks for the reminder.

    Heading to the East Coast

Turned out to be a M10x1.5x40 and it wasn't terrible to get back in but sure wasn't fun. Sitting on the side of the road in Georgia about one hour out from Atlanta waiting on a mobile mechanic. He thinks I have a blown turbo. Just another day in the life of an idiot driving a 1998 LMTV 1,000...

    Heading to the East Coast

Buy an old military truck and drive it 1,000 miles after it probably sat for 10 years.... what could possibly go wrong?!

    Heading to the East Coast

I think I know why I was having a hard time with the starter yesterday, it was working its way loose. This morning it had spun itself off the bell housing.

Thank you, I will stop there on my way through. That was very helpful.

    Heading to the East Coast

I set off from Palestine Texas this morning and made it as far as Vicksburg MS on day one. Riding down the highway at 60MPH sure does seem to get people uptight but most folks didn't seem too bothered. The past couple of weeks the truck was in for service and to resolve a couple of small...

    Howdy from South Carolina

If I didn't drive my other truck to Texas from South Carolina I would make the needed repairs then drive it back. I might end up going back to Charleston them flying back to Texas once the services have been complete and the starter is rebuilt. Save money.... not expecting that to happen but...

    Howdy from South Carolina

So yesterday was an adventure! My home town is about 120 miles from the yard where I picked up my truck. I tried to find someone that wasn't a complete ripoff to transport it but in the end just decided to try my luck and drive it home. Batteries were all dead so I looked at places all the way...

I couldn't find the photos I took when I did my inspection. You guys have seen countless LMTVS at this point anyway.

    Howdy from South Carolina

Went to Mexico for a few days with my wife and as we are traveling to the airport I got an email telling me after waiting since January our EUC was finally approved. Heading to Texas next week to try and get it home. Super excited.

    Howdy from South Carolina

I just wanted to make a quick update. This morning I got a phone call from someone in the dispute resolution department and she explained that the people at the site in Hooks Texas had looked at my truck and found the ECU for the transmission had failed and they replaced it with one that works...

    Howdy from South Carolina

Appreciate you, I am doing the best I can to remain positive. The first part of this process has been educational to say the least. It is a bit unnerving to spend what I consider to be a significant amount of money for something that in the end is little more than a toy only to find you aren't...

    Howdy from South Carolina

I just wanted to take a moment and say hi to you folks. I had the pleasure of running into a couple of guys in Hooks Texas a couple of weeks ago while doing an inspection of a truck I had bought. The guys were more than helpful and gave me many great suggestions. They were driving a 5 ton...
