I made this video on the way home from getting breakfast. Had the phone in my pocket lol.
That was 80MPH on the speedo in the green machine. My 1986 Cucv m1008 with stock 6.2 diesel engine, th400 automatic transmission, and 4.56 gears.
The tires are 285-75/R16. They measure right at 33 tall. I have checked the speedo by a newer vehicle to be accurate i have not gps checked it. Stock engine, stock th400 automatic transmission, stock axles with 4.56 gears. I have ran it that fast a few times and finally took the video.
Ok.
Sounds good. I don't bash my truck in on purpose but I know paint is cheap lol.
No snoop dog rap crap for me. It's all acdc, Hank Williams, kid Rock, David Allen Coe, and Jonny rebel for me.
That is basically it CUCVRUS.
Also that small clip for the throttle can be easy to lose. The clip off of a master link for #40 chain works great. I lost the clip for mine and drove the truck a couple days after I had it back together and found the clip on the rad support. I'm still using the...
Sorry I just now seen this thread.
Looks like you have it under control. As Rick said I had my pump rebuilt not long ago. It is a bit sketchy pulling the pump off but not bad once you get at it and GO SLOW.
My pump was rebuilt and back to me in like 4 days. I am super happy with it and I will...
I'm going to try and make it. Dont forget the shirts!!
I need to hurry up on some PMs but with luck I'll be rolling up that way.
I hope y'all are cool with a modified Cucv. I know flatbeds and subwoofers are sometimes frowned upon.
What do we need for communication?
You could pull the line off the sending unit and put air into it and also try to get it to run off the can of fuel.
Does the truck have a flatbed or is the bed off yet? It makes things much easier with a flatbed when working on the tank.
I would say the 08 pack is thicker than a stock k30 because of the overload springs. The overloads are added to the regular pack.
If the bolt is a issue buy a longer bolt. A nice grade 10 Allen bolt should be fine. Allen bolts can take a lot of torque.
The stock set up is a 1 ton spring pack with enough overloads to push the rating to 1 1/4 tons. This is why the truck rides like a skate board.
I have had 2300 lbs on my trucks flatbed. Once the weight hit the overloads it sat there no problem.
