Well, still no tach movement. Likely the sensor needs adjusted or replaced.
Ordered a new one just to eliminate one variable.
When installing a new sensor, I need to thread it in until it bottoms out, then back it off a bit, but how far to back it off?
So, I went back out to give it another try.
I took a small pick and ran around each pin 10 times or so, trying to get both the outside diameter of the hole and the area next to the pin. I also probed inside each of the pins with holes in them. I then blew it all out very thoroughly with the...
Well, this sucks...
p/j 913 will not click together no matter what I try. It's keys, so it only goes one way, and it will close so much that you think it's done, but it's still about 1/16th of an inch from clicking together.
I've sprayed it with Deoxit, and Fluid film, Blew it out with...
Ha. I, too have thought about adding a box covering the whole cab, which would be accessible through the exiting turret hole, for storage. But man I like the moonroof idea.
The removable feature could be useful for access to the top of my mobile workshop container for removal/installation, or...
I'm working to resolve my leak prone turret hole before winter.
Found this in the inter webs a while back: https://builtmfg.com/2016/11/14/moonroof/
I like the idea of letting the sky in a bit, but... It'd be nice to be able to pop it open on demand without climbing on top with an impact...
Yes, the hazards and heater panel lights both work. As does the PTO switch and the signal returning from the sensor (at least the PTO light comes on).
I was really hoping to not need to pull that thing back out.
Thanks @Ronmar
So, I've been on a journey to get my winch and a/C installed.
Made a big move yesterday and got the options panel and the interior A/C unit installed. Not too much in the way of difficulties, but my options panel is not working. (All is well with the A/C unit)
The options panel has two sets of...
Got my interior unit installed today. It was a lot of work, but not a lot of drama. I found it helpful to sit the unit on top of a couple of 2x4's, as well as removing the lower portion of the gunner's platform. That gave me more room to move the unit around to get the wiring and air lines...
OK @ramdough I couldn't wait until the weekend.
Here's some pics, but the gist of it is the front most hose is the inflow. If it trace that line back, it goes down along the passenger frame rail, then up towards the front of the engine near the front crank pulley. Both hoses lead here, one...
I'm not too worried about it not starting. The relay I'm using has a built in timer that will stop cranking after x seconds.
Honestly after testing the existing starter disable setup, it actually works great. I'm hoping that after I get my ether system functioning, I can just set the crank time...
Climbing in and out of the cab repeatedly at 51 years of age is not "simple". I'm a lifelong nerd, I'd spend considerable time and money to eliminate mundane, time consuming physical tasks like climbing in and out.
Due to the lack of a real momentary option, and the fact that I don't see a need to run the winch from miles away, I'll be controlling the PTO and Winch enable switches, but not the in/out functions. For that I'll be using a wireless winch remote. I'm considering a couple of options for the...
OK... Prototype testing of the remote control is up.
Right now none of the outputs are hooked up. I figured I'd burn it in a bit before connecting everything, in case it decided to go all "Maximum Overdrive" on me.
