What have you done to your FMTV or LMTV today

Dropped her off at the shop for ECM and TCM updates. I want them to pull the engine data to see what the actual miles are (if accurate) and exactly what operating conditions the truck has been through.

Wreckers: Do people buy them for hobby or use?

Mainly for hobby use but also useful for those unique situations where you need something moved and the ground won't let you get a forklift or etc in place. They really are a crane with wheels (but are terrible at being on-road wreckers). I bought a 2nd for lifting those larger loads like whole...

M876A1 TMT - Dataplate Info Needed

I managed to scoop up a M876A1 TMT "Telephone Maintenance Truck" but the data plate was missing. I've found 1 other member with a sister truck but no data plate on it either. Does anyone know of another truck in existence? I need the info off it. Thanks.

Prayers to the family and those involved. It was only this afternoon I saw the video of them in route..

    What is this truck pulling?

"With enough torque it doesn't matter." ~ Ijustmadethisup. Besides, if it does make contact they'll just paint the rough spots then all is well again. rofl

What have you done WITH your wrecker this week?

Gave #2 a steam bath. It really had no choice as greaser and cold power washing was not cutting cutting through the grime. It really made the difference.

    2019 TX MV Rally

I'm 50/50 depending on what condition this next truck arrives in. It's on the boat floating this way..

    Is it the M Gator?

Shhh... Deserts can be cold at night, also I assume you bought this unit state side so who knows what agency had it and did that to it.

    Is it the M Gator?

Ditto, it's a M-Gator A1 model and the serial will be different. You should call a JD dealer and give them the serial and engine serial to get parts, not much has changed on these models. The frame and basics are identical to the 6x4 civilian model but with the diesel yanmar engine in it. Any...

    M936 - Prices?

M543 and M816 models can be had for around the $6500-$12,000 range for private sale. Finding a cherry one is getting hard these days and may be in the high 20's if near perfect condition. M936 "A0" (as some call it) and M936A1 would be in the $8500-$14,500 range. The M936A2 usually range from...

What have you done WITH your wrecker this week?

Picked up another M936A2 for reasons. It came with a fording kit installed and I'm still cleaning her up. A few bad hoses here and wasps there but a solid truck.

Towing an M1091 A1 trailer with an M1079 do able? Pic included

I don't know man.. with as much drive line and gears you've been chewing up riding an M105A2 down a hill would be faster. rofl

    Shelter identity

I've got a spare box if you're looking to build. As for weight I believe they're closer to 5000 but I can check the data plate tomorrow.

What would a LMTV completed run? Pic enclosed Also where do you find the hood racks

I was thinking about following your build but using the spare 1079 box have. The question would be what to do with all the space between the cab and box? So many possibilities. [thumbzup]

What would a LMTV completed run? Pic enclosed Also where do you find the hood racks

Can confirm from a source. 2k for a 1079A0 non-runner in hawaii with $500 to get it to port, $10K to get it to California, $2500-4500 to get it to your door THEN you get to see if it's a lemon. This doesn't include any towing fees or handling charges for a non-running truck during the...

What would a LMTV completed run? Pic enclosed Also where do you find the hood racks

Like most people say this is a nice custom build. M1079's run about 12-16k and M1079A1's run from 18K-30K+ depending on configuration (3126 vs C7) for a nice running truck before customization in the private market. The end price is what your wallet can afford.

    $12.500 for m1083

That truck had a C7 in it, I talked to the owner on the LMTV/MTV facebook page. Location was right, condition was right, so price was...right. You need to post photos and details for a fair assessment, PM them to me if you don't want it public. I've sold a number of 1083 and 1083A1s as of late...

What have you done to your FMTV or LMTV today

The weather warmed up to 62F today with perfect conditions for an outdoor spray. I should be able to finish this one up after the food coma tomorrow.
