The "rubber" plugs I ordered, turned out to be plastic and a shape that would not have worked.
Now I gotta find some actual rubber plugs in a 1/2" size...
My MTVR is a 2007 and painted in woodland camo. When it's wet, the colors look pretty fresh. When it's dry, the colors look pretty bland, especially in direct sunlight. Does CARC fade like that on a 13 year old truck? Is there something I can use to revive the colors, or should I just live with...
My MTVR was originally built with armor, which was removed before I bought it, leaving about 50-60 half-inch holes in the floor.
I'd like to seal them up, and we may want to put down some kind of sound damping and or sound absorbing floor covering, like rubber matting and/or carpeting on top...
Working on some possible matches for a non-vented locking gas cap:
Velvac # 600169-6
PDC # 600169-6
Sloan # 431006
Stant # 10419
They are 4" diameter, 8 threads per inch, and non-vented.
I have not physically confirmed that these will work...
Okay, I've got a Pierce dealer parts department employee working on the locking door handles. I'll give an update when that information becomes available...
It looks like the Hawk Extreme firefighting vehicle from Oshkosh's Pierce division, is simply an MTVR in drag, and photos of the Hawk Extreme show key locking outside door handles.
Excellent stuff, Wes.
Do you have a part number for the keyed Cole Hersee ignition switch?
I'm looking at pictures, and I suspect that the correct switch is one of the ones with a "956" prefix...
Going to get started cleaning up and fettling our truck today.
Our rear mud flaps appear tl have taken on a curled "set" from being stored with the tails hooked to the leashes.
Any idea how to relax/uncurl/straighten them?
I'm thinking of removing them and laying them flat(ish) in the bed to...
We locked ours up last night by chaining up the outside handles as depicted above.
I just got off the phone with a "Mike" at Oshkosh Defense, who is looking into finding us locking outside door handles. He pulled up the technical drawings on the door handles that the MTVR comes with, as well as...
My wife and I are currently in negotiations on that subject.
Containers can be cut and rewelded to any length.
The MTVR is plenty tall enough to handle the rear overhang without materially effecting the departure angle.
...and we're exploring scooting the container further forward, closer to...
