It's all good- it's just discussion. Most of it was helpful, with only a few questionable statements. And questionable statements tend to get questioned. 😀
Argued by who? You? Again, are you a personal injury lawyer? What vocational training have you had in this area? What vocational and/or personal experience(s) have you had in this area?
The original design of the vehicle does not require a CDL by the original user (the USMC), nor will a CDL be...
Well, that would be one way to do it, but steel tubing inside the cab can be extremely dangerous to anyone not wearing a helmet- that's why every sanctioning organization I know of, requires a Snell/DOT/EC certified helmet whenever a roll bar or roll cage is used, as well as a head rest and an...
I don't know your background- are you a personal injury lawyer that specializes in this kind of stuff?
I am a retired police officer with specialized commercial truck training, and extensive experience investigating motor vehicle collisions.
My professional opinion, based upon my training and...
The MTVR is a little unique, in that it comes with a folding aluminum cab, and no rollover protection.
Any ideas on adding rollover protection?
We plan to mount a 20' container to the flatbed, and I'm wondering if we beef up the bed-to-frame mounting, as well as mounting the container to the...
To clarify, the MK23 is the basic truck. The MK23A1 is the "RTAA" (Ready To Accept Armor) version. The AMK23 (the version that I bought) came with the MAS armor (which appears to have been removed from my truck). And the AMK23A1 would come with the "reducible" armor that allows for a reduced...
Received three different emails yesterday from Iron Planet / GovPlanet, stating that that are reviewing my EUC. The first two emails were identical, and appeared to be from GovPlanet customer service. The third one appears to be from their EUC department.
Hoping and praying for the best...
I've purchased a 2007 MTVR that we intend to convert into an overland expedition type vehicle and register as a motorhome in Oregon.
We haven't even begun to figure out insurance, so I'd like to hear from other members with experience in this area.
The ladder appears to be missing. The wheel chocks are still inside the right-side steps, so I may find some fun stuff left behind under the passenger seats and/or in the troop seat stowage compartment.
We're not going to be using the tailgate or ladder, and we may not even be using the bed...
We would like to be able to build out our overland expedition box during the Spring/Summer/Fall warmer weather, but that's gonna depend on how long it takes to get my EUC approved...
Please share with me your observations of this truck- what looked good to you, what didn't look good to you, and what concerns did you have about it? Why did you stop bidding before I did? Did you buy another vehicle instead?
Are you saying that you're shopping for a vehicle to convert into an...
The OP (Elijah95) asked me to join this thread, so I'm here.
I'll be detailing the progress of my MTVR purchase in my introductory thread:
https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/just-purchased-an-mtvr.194777/
Mine is a 2007, indicating 3443 miles and 216 hours.
I just submitted my EUC this...
Thanks. Given your input, I scanned my EUC documents and e-mailed them to GovPlanet's EUC Processing Department. I immediately received an automated confirmation response e-mail.
