The weight of the winch is not an issue at all. It weighs less than the stock M35 winch would. I'd be more concerned with the weight of all those nuts and bolts and the additional bumper.
WOW nice job on the bumper and frame extension project. (got a bit carried away with the nuts and bolts there) The genuine military frame extensions only have the inner splice piece. (even the 5 tons) But more is better. If you got the 18,000 lb winch that goes on the MRAP you will be very...
Been to the Poplarville, MS location. It's a great place to hold the rally. Plenty of parking spaces including inside the building. Indoor bathroom facilities too. For me it's the same distance as to Ponchatula. It has a lot of potential for setting up displays or selling goods indoor (out...
Sounds like the Black Control Box is acting up. If the solenoids inside get stuck or wear out the truck will not start. Try tapping on the box with a hammer or wrench while someone tries to start the truck. It may start but you probably need to replace the Black Control Box.
I installed an aluminum step on mine. I got them in pairs from Pep Boys and they were inexpensive. My truck too has a 4" lift on 37x12.50R16.5 MT tires mounted to HMMWV rims. I can't even get in the cab without the step! Still need to get the other one on the passenger side done. My friend...
Yep that happened to my truck a few weeks ago when jeepsinker was coming to pick it up. I wanted to get the truck running ahead of time so it would be ready when he arrived. We tried for hours to get it started. We even drained all the fuel and put new fuel and filter on.
When he got here...
That was my first M820A2. Cost me over $10k about 5 years ago. Sold it due to money crunch. Ran into a XM820A2 about a year or so at Camp Shelby for $3K grabbed it! I love that truck. The paint on the XM820A2 is all faded compared to the first truck but $7K less. The cab is spotless.
I have one for my M1008 and I love it. It is light enough to maneuver in the grass by hand. It has LED marker lights and some have LED tail lights as well. It's nice and wide too. Tailgate removes similar to a pickup truck tailgate. Only thing is to check the bearings. SOme members have...
The center hole in the battery clamps is a different size POS and NEG. The negative should not even fit on the POS post. Did they remove the cables from the clamps?
Check the grounds on the LED marker lights. On my trailer the front amber LED was intermittent and sometimes very dim. When I opened it up I saw it was attached by 3 rivets and one screw. The one screw must be ground connection. It was not tightly secured. I tightened it and hope I get a...
The usable links were blue in color if I remember correctly. I think the suppressor is the group of capacitors next to the wiper motor assembly. You can bypass them if you want. They plug in line.
