If you REALLY need power in the back forty let me know. I toss a lil' Honda gen in the back of the truck for you. Won't buy the gas though! Ughhh! Darn sure won't toss the big 5K in there.
I just run a extension cord from the converter in the truck for my needs nowadays.
More of the camping and parking will be shifted down the hill behind the MKT? Hmmmm. Might have to come up earlier to get my spot between the trees! I was enjoying the solitude and quiet being all out there by myself. :) Guess I'll shift further back into the woods and put up camo net and...
I posted on over on Guns and Rovers and hope to stir up a few from there. Some Mog guys hide over there too so that would be cool! Euro invasion!
Clinto, you worked too hard last year! Hope you are able to relax this go around. The wife loved the rally so I guess she will be coming too! I...
Problems? What problems? :)
****, I'm retiring from Uncle Sam's Goat herders and I'm not missing this! Had a blast last year and Out Processing can wait a little bit more. :-P
Gonn'a travel like last year, back roads from Sav. to there and back. Hoping to leave that Thursday!
Most of the DoD sites have expired certs. I work for 'em and it drives me nuts, the constant "just do it anyway" button gets a work out.
Oh,you'll know if you get a bug!
Hmmm, Guess that's why my VIC 1 doesn't light up but does work. Didn't want to go exploring inside it 'cause I don't have a TM on it. Wow, those LED versions are $$. I'll look around for lower cost versions.
Thanks for digging up all that info for us!
I figgured I'd never be able to talk the wife into me getting a 113 so I figured "might as well"
Yea, a bit overkill but is looks cool.;) I can reach it easily to turn the radio on and off. (trying to justify it)
I have OCD when it comes to anything having to do with "shoot, move, communicate".
Thanks for the comps. The last missing link was the 7777. I knew I had one. Well, I thought I did. Went nuts and tore the garage apart and finally found it laying in the weeds. :-( Tore it apart and cleaned it up...
More pic of the 12v-24v converter. Most was junk I've gathered over upteen years and chunked in boxes in the garage. Got to build some more batts for the mobile/prc77. I'm using a pair of RC car 7.2v batts wired up in in an gutted batt. The ant. mount is quick disconnect. Thanks to all for the...
Whew! Bad C10456 and a bad mic on top of a intermittent short in a cable. Swapped out and now all good except the light still doesn't come on on the 1780. (yea, I turned it to open) :) But I did find a headset while digging around.
Will try to get some pics up tomorrow. Still need to weld out...
Ok, the TM is as screwed up as a football bat!
Under chapter2, para2-5 (3) it says to run power directly to the AM-1780 and ,in turn, to the amp power supply (AM2060).
But........
You look at fig.2-3 it shows power running from a MX-7777 to the MT-1029 and a CX-4723 running to the AM-1780.
So...
OK, Hmmmmmmm.
Hooked up power to the AM-1780 (J508) ran a 4723 cable off of J501 to the MT1029A, removed the cover on the back and moved the buss bar to the left to E22. Ran a 4723 cable off of J507 on the AM-1780 to my vic box which is a C10456. Pulled the PRC77 just in case and powered it up...
Getting there! The 700w 12v-24v converter showed up in the mail Sat(60 bucks). I'm fab'n up the Ant mount at work out of some scrap 6061T6 aluminum I had and I need to go get some more 8 or 10ga wire for to power the converter.
Whooo weeee! That PRC320 is nice! Down side is I think the wife would pour hot grits on me while I sleep if I bought that! $$$$! I think I'll have 100 bucks in this system 'cause I had almost everything already, just had to dig it all out of the garage.
Oh, I blame you for the wife want'n a...
Thanks! Haven't been able to track down an affordable 524 (and I don't think there's one laying in the garage)so that's why I running the prc77's in an VRC64 set up. Won't have alot of range like the 524 I guess?:-( But I can pull and tote them if the truck takes a crap! [thumbzup]
I know I ask...
