    Hmmwv head question

Like I said, check the intake manifold bolt hole angles. If the engine already has an n/a manifold then who cares about the GF? Are you suspecting Chinese knock off heads? If so, buy another block. If the heads are original, then who cares about the stamp?

    Hmmwv head question

??? OEM heads are AMG /Detroit Diesel. N/a heads differ slightly from turbo heads. Turbo heads will not accept n/a manifold. The head bolts attaching the intake manifold to the head come in at different angle. You can identify with long bolts. Just place bolts in the intake manifold holes in...

    M1151 trouble shooting

Like others have said and implied, they used your vehicle as a parts car.

    Hmmwv reliability

If you remove the engine, transmission, transfer case, you have an extremely reliable paper weight. If you replace the power train with a non-standard unit, you create an unreliable vehicle as everything you do will be custom one off.

    REV truck?

Excellent. I just missed out on getting the newly unobtainable Shepard setup. I’m in the 220k region with my rig. Maybe not the strongest steering gear, but will be more easily serviced or replaced I guess.

Spacers between engine/trans cooler and radiator

Separating the cooling stack might have unintended consequences. It might allow air to leak in from the hot engine bay rather than from the grill. I think a clean stack is a good stack.

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

I don’t understand your juggernaut towards a centralized front diff. Everything else sounds good.

    Two silly oil change questions...

On gasoline engines especially if a friend is using crappy oil, yes. My engines all were bought new so Mobil1 from the start and no wash necessary. On my Diesels, unless there is a stuck valve, no.

    Aftermarket hood grills

Why not send to a paint shoppe and get custom graphic painted on the stock grill. Safer. Then get a jeweler to put her birthstone or a diamond on a custom HMMWV key fob.

    Moving Injector Pump..

Is this tool compatible with your blinker assembly system? Does this tool have a users guide? Is this tool 24V compatible, or does it need a power inverter? 😉😜🤪 Great idea. Similar to brake system tools I’ve made. Try using a piece of thick solid steel and drill and thread two screws and...

    AC compressor bypass pulley

Ruh rho Shaggie. This thread is so old it’s a g-g-g-g-g-ghooooost. Johnhatem, you should consider sending a PM directly to 86humv. Probably would be faster and more effective. Good luck with your rig!

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Snow is the white stuff that sneaks in over the NORTHERN border and not the white powder stuff sneaking in over the Southern border.

    400a to 200a conversion

Steve/retiredwarhorses is the man to ask about this as he told me he dislikes 400amp units and has converted them to 200amp.

Sources/options and types of 12V wiper and heater fan motors…

That’s why I asked if anyone here knew of alternatives. Lots of people here have done lots of things. Some worked and some didn’t. 😉

    700R4 TV Cable Adjustment - 1986 M998

If you have a tranny fluid pressure gauge, bowtie overdrives has a guide. Either that or take to experienced tranny shoppe to adjust for you. If you get this wrong you will blow the tranny.

Why Blue Hummer Spindle Nuts? Hummer H1’s video answer!

Seems like this thread has become a bit divisive. Sorry. My point is that spindle nuts can’t be trusted.

Why Blue Hummer Spindle Nuts? Hummer H1’s video answer!

Backwards parts. Loose bolts… Ultimately, this proves we can’t trust GovPlanet hubs and spindles. Blue Hummers are a good solution.

Why Blue Hummer Spindle Nuts? Hummer H1’s video answer!

I have no affiliation with blue hummer or mm. I feel that if you keep up on the system like you say in your post, you are probably safe. For the rest of us lazy bastids, blue hummers are an additional safety factor. Please post images of the later version you’re referring to, as I think I know...

Why Blue Hummer Spindle Nuts? Hummer H1’s video answer!

Dude! I don’t understand your denial of this issue. The freakin’ thing was loose. It was loose on a used driven military vehicle that was sold on GovPlanet. The hub was properly closed and sealed. These things when properly installed are torqued down and can’t be twisted by finger. They don’t...
