Thanks for the compliment! When we bought it we were stationed at NAS Atlanta. During the ride to Wisconsin, all I heard was how happy I should be for getting my new truck. As soon as we pulled in to pick it up and Wendi saw it, it immediately became-"I love MY new truck". It took a lot longer...
I am leaning towards the Guntruck "Otto". I should have also added before it has the 4:89 gearing and a front disk conversion. Notice every grease zerk is painted yellow...
Thanks! I am currently doing a USMC M38. After that the plan is; since I have so many M37 spare parts (and another truck), I'm going to build a M37 ARMY Gun Truck.
Here's how it looked in 2009 when bought sight unseen from a Wisconsin online auction and a link to the 4 year build thread: https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?147925-Finally-restoring-the-M37
The M54 kit isn't really like the original kit. Their site shows the fording kit for a M35 non turbo multi, that one is close. The only difference is how the tube is mounted. You can either make the clamps or just shorten the one in the kit. There is one installed on the deuce in my Avatar photo.
The seat covers came from New Life Canvas. They are actually grey, the picture doesn't really show that. There's more seat pictures around posts 100-105.
