How soon do you need the seatback? I am upgrading my M1008 bench seat with 2 bucket seats very very soon. The bottom is shot but the back in in very nice shape.
Sorry i dd not notice you already had that on the driver's side. I wonder if they had the markings on both sides or either side..... Thank you for the clarification. Carry on sgt. :driver:
I am referring to the USA and W601416 under it in large white letters. Maybe Dave could put some thing similar to it on your K-18.
Also what is mounted above the windshield on both sides? Antennas or mirrors? It's hard to tell. ( In the newspaper photo)
As I stated a few comments back, I cancelled this project. The M109 box was sold to a member in TX and the M923 was sold to a friend here in Slidell earlier this year.
If you could fit a small tank inside you could fill the void with expandable foam. Like the stuff MDMORGAN used on the walls of the camper project. I am confidant Dave will come up with the best solution to his taste.
Here is an idea. Is it possible to install a smaller fuel tank inside the original so it would look original but be new on the inside. Just an idea to kick around.
I would try to bill GP for the FUEL used for the 250 additional miles. Since you are bidding based on of item and recovery cost. (I know I skip bidding on items that are too far away to be cost effective to recover.) Maybe toss in some extra $$ for your time loss too. You bid and paid - so...
Ordered 72" x 1/2" aluminum solid round rod today. I will be using it for bumper marker poles. I will thread the end so I can install (2) 1/2" nuts on the one end to secure to the bumper corners.
I may install additional storage in front of the truck, but that can wait until cooler weather...
After a while some things stop being funny. Maybe after pouring a lot more blood and sweat into the project in ungodly high temperatures Dave no longer sees the humor in it. He doesn't get enough respect for his unselfish efforts. Just my opinion. He has my respect. :not worthy:
I was one of those members who looked forward every day to visiting this thread and witness the skillful advance being made by the "commander" in restoring the old gal to her past glory. Being an amateur fabricator I was in aw as to the drive and talent exhibited by Dave in his restoration...
Today I didn't do much on the truck. I drilled 2 holes in the front bumper in front of the winch and installed 2 LED 27 watt 24 volt spot lights. They are not wired in yet. Will take pictures tomorrow if I have a chance.
For those who are worried about venting the batteries I took some pictures of the battery boxes to show large openings on the sides. Also I cut a deep channel in the side rubber mat to vent the 2 batteries on the driver's side. The picture of the mat also shows the grooves on the back of the...
