All Fixed!
Hey all!
Well BiffJ and I worked on the front winch today... found the following:
1) Winch was dry of gear oil... got that filled.
2) The lever for wind / unwind did not fully actuate the hyd. valve under the truck... once BiffJ adjusted it, it was running fine!
3) Now once my...
Cable Adjustment
How is the cable adjusted on the front winch?
Found a replacement front plate thanks to an SS member... but anyone gets them remade in steel let me know... seems that would be a good addition!
Hey to all
BiffJ and I enjoyed meeting a few people at Haspin this weekend! Nice to put some faces with names. NEXT year we'll have a couple trucks and that pond looked very inviting for a BMP. Just have to solve our trailer and truck dilemmas!
That trail ride looks great!
Help
Be glad to offer help in any way... I can help pickup, store at my location, etc. if needed...
I can tell you definitively, that shipping by rail is a waste of time, resources and money. We have tried to ship tanks by rail 2x, and it was more expensive than truck, and a colossal hassle...
Pic
I'll get a pic of the tree, but it wasn't anything special... about a 2 ft. thick Osage Orange I believe... we turned the truck around and hitched the rear winch up and drug it right out...
The stinking plate is aluminum... so I'm guessing you're right... at some time someone tired to wind...
Hey all,
Well Biff and I worked out the M936 yesterday, pulling uprooted trees out of the woods and worked out the front, rear winch, and the pulling power. Impressive truck.
Had an issue with the front winch however. The winch will unwind under power, but refuses to move in the wind...
Found it!
Not 2 minutes after I posted... after looking on and off all day, I found the pic...
If you guys have any insight or guidance for building this please let me know... plan on starting with an M932...
Hey all,
Been searching for the pic of the prototype M923/5 two axle vehicle that was posted in a thread awhile back... I'm beginning to scheme...
If anyone has it, and has any info / insight on building one please let me know!
Thanks
M923a1
Hey I just picked up my 923A1 Red River on Wednesday...
probably saw your 925...
If you have rails, bows, or a cover you don't want I'd gladly meet you on that day and buy them from you! I'm looking.
Thanks!
Lucky!
Hey count yourself lucky... We had a BMP-1 show up with a busted radiator... it had SIX cores in it... largest cores the shop had ever seen... Total rebuild... cost?
$5,000
Yep, thats right.... $5k... 6 cores the size of a semi truck EACH...
bleeech...
Yes thanks!
Chuck,
thanks for the offer, yes I'd be interested! Let me know how to find your friends.
I had been asked last year to bring the T-55 or BMP to the show, but I lost the guys name and email...
I ordered 4 gallons of paint for my M936, and when I opened the box, one gallon was swimming in the bottom...
I expected hassles and problems... but Rapco and April responded immediately and got it solved NO PROBLEMS! I'd highly recommend!
Trying to be there...
After an issue keeping us away last year, we're going to come down a couple days... (whats the best days to stop in?). I'm only 25 miles north of the facility (we flew over it yesterday), probably drive the BTR-40 one day, and the M923 another (supposing it clears GL)...
Looking for...
I'll be coming up... looking for:
M900 series hardtop for my M936
Tow Bar... (for my 936 to pull BMPs)
Cover and bows (may be seats) for my M923
Misc. accessories for M936... like cover for crane operator etc.
ANYTHING Russian military or Russian armored
if the price is right...
