Also called tube doors. I thought about some perforated inset metal or something but the idea is to keep the feeling your still open to the elements but not be able to fall out. I think they're called rock doors because the rock crawlers can see what's going on through them better. I think it...
I’ve done a ton of research and it seems the tire manufacturers and the wheel manufacturers don’t get together at all. All the 38,39, and 40 inch tires come 13.50 wide unless you go with non DOT approved race tires. Those come 12.50 for Baja stuff. The manufacturers recommend 10-11 inch...
I’m deciding about differentials now on my ride and there’s no good answer. Part of my driveway is 150 yard steep hill that no trucks can get up in the snow . I don’t think running the brakes and throttle hard for 150 yards is what you all have in mind when you say BTM is the what to do and...
OK, I'll try that. Thanks for your detailed description. The data plates are either missing or scratched up but I got UOC NNN off the internet for M1123 if that helps. The NSN number is 2320-01-455-9593 on the tag.
So I’ve been working on some more stuff. Added grab handles to the cage, started the roof, started the rock doors. Front bumper is almost done. I’ll post it later
This is all so complicated and time consuming. Where do I find the manuals that pertain to the M1123? I don't need anything that pertains to engine or transmission. I clicked on the links but there's just a huge list of links and none say M1123. When I do find a picture of what I need there...
Heat makes the item heated expand so I've had better luck heating the housing so the bolt/plug gets more loose than heating the bolt and making it larger and tighter. I've never done a geared hub though, I'm talking about other similar items.
OK thanks guys. i researched torsen diff and the BTM method. It looks like the BTM method is something that is not ideal and I wouldn't want to have to rely on becaue it can tear stuff up and doesn't give 100 percent of power to the right wheels. Someone said the Auburn is not recommended for...
What kind of locker or system should I put in my differentials front and rear? I mostly drive in the street but want maximum traction for snow or off road also. I was thinking electric lockers front and rear but it may not be necessary to go to that expense. I’m not really even sure how...
I’m trying to design my roof and I don’t know how far to bring it down to be near a factory H1 or Humvee hardtop. Can someone tell me how tall overall a hard x door is or the vertical measurement from the top of the floor seal to the bottom of a hard top. Thanks
I thought about tying it in to the bumper but it’s mostly just for aesthetics. I don’t want to get rear ended or back into a rock and it tear up the cage too. All the cage points are around the edge and the frame is way inboard so it’s just not worth the effort if you aren’t into heavy...
Didn't know those existed, thanks for the heads up. I see limited tread patterns though. I think I'm going to run 39x12.50's but there's not many of these either. I think just Kanati. The tire manufacturers all recommend wide wheels for those 13.50s but the wheel manufactures only want to...
I have a complete 200 amp setup on my M1123 I'll sell. I don't know much about this stuff so I don't know if this is what your asking for or not but I'm selling it all.
