Thanks to Ed and Crew
We test fit an M113 today. Special thank to Ed and Crew. What a great bunch of guys!
The trailer did not care when the M113 was loaded/unloaded. The truck squatted (technical term) ~1.5". Should be good-to-go for hauling M548 (hurricane relief) or M113 (knocking on...
Tires
I am near Houston. Got plenty of tires. Give me a call and I will be happy to help you.
What is the biggest that people run...395/85R20. What is the biggest I would run on the factory wheels...11.00R20. What would I run.... the Michelin 11.00R20 XLs

I don't understand
I don't get this system either. How do you control side load? Example. If you are on flat ground and you are doing donuts what keeps the axle centered if you hit a rut with your rear axle? Is there an internal strength member to the air bag? If not it would be like...
good point
I agree about the loaded weight. My knee-jerk thought was to add some helper airbags to the rear but this trailer requires some real consideration. I am going to borrow a load cell and lift the lunette and record weights loaded and empty.
The trailer weighs 11K.

pics
Interesting... it sits level behind the bobber but sits forward-down behind the M923. Maybe it was made for the MTVR?
Got the loading ramps installed. The spare tire mount was broken off. Need to revise the mount and reattach.
It does have leaf springs but I have never before seen...
trailer.
Yes, this is the one that I was talking about at the rally. It needs new air lines, wiring and wood floor but for the most part it is a solid trailer.
Franz,
No, this was not a custom job. Is an EET (Engineering Equipment Trailer) and it is rated for 20K off road. Adjacent tires...
Rolling out...
Mr George and I will be rolling out from Houston at 3:30p today. See you guys tonight.
If there is anyone that wants to convoy give me a call. Slow and easy...

lift kit
Jesse,
I was thinking of removing the overload springs and block from the top of the primary spring and adding a block (same thickness as removed assy) under the primary spring. This will give you ~2" lift. The overall thickness does not change so you can reuse all the same...
gotta be more to it...
There must be something else going on. Yes, the 53s with a locker are more stress on the axle but you are bobbed. That extra stress is mitigated if you do not have the ground pressure to back it up.
My money is on the set up of the gears...

track jack
I am sure one of you will know where the pic is on here but someone used a hi-lift jack along with the comealong. Open the windshield and put the hilift front to back between the open window and back of the cab. This allows you to move the trans fwd or back along with the up and...
forks knives etc
I just found a box of the individually wrapped utensils we had left over from a BBQ. Each packet has fork, knife, salt, pepper, napkin, etc
Please add this to the items we will bring.
