Scaler
Yeah, I have a scaler (not for the dremel, not sure if they make attachments for that), but the scaler is just to big for many of the small spots...
On the POR-15, is that a brand name or a type of primer? Any idea where it can be purchased?
Thanks!
Thanks!
Thanks for the info guys... Yep plan on using Acetone for wipe down before an etching primer...
While I have heard that Soda was originally used to avoid the issues with heat, another reason is soda washes away and doesn't become gritty like sand. This makes issues with seals and...
Museum
Are the pieces being moved to another museum? Sorry I didn't recognize the acronym of the museum.... we are always looking for other pieces...
Sorry the museum is closing... so sad to see. A lot of museums in trouble with the economy.
Thanks!
Thanks for doing that... it really helps people contemplate our military men and women's sacrifice...
Most people have no appreciation for how much work is involved in moving armored equipment, but it pays real dividends, especially when you see kids eyes light up!
Hey all,
We are needing some help with translation of Czech switches and plates in the T-55AM2... does anyone here have any experience that could help? Perhaps a former Czech military individual, or even better a Czech T-55AM tanker?
You just never know... we could sure use your help! Thanks!
Hey all,
I just picked up a soda blaster from Harbor Freight... has anyone used one and have any tips on usage and soda media? Does it work well in confined spaces?
Thanks!
Hey all,
I'm beginning an interior spot paint process on our BPzV (BMP-1 recon unit). This vehicle has begun to get rust in small areas where she had condensation from the temp changes in war storage. For instance a strap bracket or on top of attachment brackets.
I was wondering if anyone...
Armor?
Guys,
I'm getting ready to start a repaint on my BPzV (BMP-1 recon vehicle) and was wondering if this acrylic latex paint was taking abuse well? This armor is walked on everytime someone climbs in, and would have to take shoes and boots well. Some states are really stopping all enamel...
F14 wings
Why would F14 wings be so valuable from a scrap perspective? Are they an exotic material? Just wondering why they would want to be scrapped and be valuable to take a flatbed with them.
Hey all,
The T-34 I've been told, probably has a tranny with leather seals... anyone run up against this in the past? If it does, they say you have to use specific fluid or the seals can dry out and become brittle... what should I avoid?
Thanks!
Thanks!
Thanks for the tip... I'll check it out!
Anyone know if the air lines on the BMP need to be remanufactured, or can they be Tig welded to fix any leaks or holes?
Has anyone welded metal air lines successfully?
Thanks!
Video
It is an INCREDIBLE video... i wish we could get it translated with an english speaking overlay. These vehicles are incredible... I continue to be impressed everytime we work on them or play with them. Definitely the sports car of armored vehicles!
Now if I can just run down that air...
Tatra
Kinda new to Tatras but wouldn't mind adding one to the collection. I rode around in several during a trip to CZ last year. Where are the best places to find specialty trucks like Tatras in the US? I've done some google searches but none of the sites really have much.
Thanks!
Kubinka?
Does anyone have information on the big Russian tank museum... Kubinka (sp?)... I am wanting to plan a trip next year and would like to know when its open, good lodging that's close, any behind the scene tour opportunities etc.
Thanks in Advance!
Great pics!
Nice pics, I always like the look of the Sheridan!
I had an opportunity to see one run at Knob Creek a few years back... was an impressive machine. Anyone ever see one live fire? What was the condition of the target, and what were the stats on penetration for that gun?
Thanks!
