Excited
We're excited as anything to be going... we made our reservations yesterday... and we now have confirmation that the seasoned vet is going too!
Can't wait to see all the vehicles and hope there is a hefty dose of E. Block stuff to see!
Later!

Thanks!
Thanks for the link... I've emailed them about the KPVTs and some armor helmets... as BiffJ so aptly put it the other day, the only thing soft in a tank is the tanker's (or owners LOL) head!
Driver Neil,
Biff and I need a KPVT... preferrably two of them... demilled to US standards and shipped in. We would of course do Form 6s... can you give us contact info?
thanks

Any ideas?
Wow,
If you find out any T-72s here in the States that are for sale, especially if they are CZ units, I'd LOVE to get their information!

Plans
Hoping to open a small armor museum, focusing on Cold War vehicles... and discussing Cold War armor ideas and tactics...
Need a T-72, and that should do the Russian stuff unless a T6X could be found... but now need a Centurion and Chieftain, Scorpion, and FV432... that will do GB...
Good Point!
Good point! Armor is exempt from duty... but mil trucks less than 25 years old I believe had a 25% duty placed on them... BE CAREFUL with trucks!

Steps to acquire
Ok guys... It took a lot of time and effort, frustration and pain, but I've learned some valuable lessons in importing vehicles over the past year or so...
1) Locate vehicle: You MUST have someone you either explicitly trust OR must put boots on the ground overseas and see...
Hey all,
Look what followed us home today! She finally made it in from across the pond!
T-55AM2... Czech... from the Boyes collection sale last year...

T-34
I own an operational T-34... breech intact ready to shoot... IF you could find the shells... which don't hardly exist!

Yes...
Yes, fully amphibious. This is a very rare variant... a command, control, and recon unit. Loaded with radios, hi-gain antenna, laser range finder, ground tracking, etc.
The BPzV was made to sneak ahead of the line, sit and find / report on enemy movements... think German forests etc...
Boyes Auction
Bought her at the Boyes Auction last Julyish... She made land 2 weeks or so ago... I had help on the import from John and Lar (olivedrab)... they were great.
BMP is the sports car of armor... believe me!

No problem...
We can ride... or if the weather isn't nice, you can at least look through them. Its interesting just to look and understand the vehicles too... amazing stuff.

Arriving
She just arrived from Liverpool. I bought her at the Boyes auction last July. It takes a LONG time to get the paperwork handled.
Quick note, expect pilfering and possible damage when this stuff comes over. I was lucky on her... just a dead military battery, 175 to replace. She did...
Hey all...
The BPzV has hit Indiana. This is a relatively rare BMP-1 variant, designed by the Czechs. Its role was to sneak behind enemy lines and report back on enemy sightings, position, and range. Chock FULL of radios and neat equipment. Sorry for the bad pics, but it was POURING when...
