Ugg013, I know very well that they (means any kind of users) modified the Doges to their needs. I also konw that they used anything which they got on hand. I kindly asked whether the extentions and the winch are Original! I expected a serious answer! I worked many years ago on these vehicles...

    Picture of G-671 accident - Japan 1955

Sorry, but I'm not shure with the tractor. The front end is not visible. According to my manuals it should be a M425, IH Model H542-9. The tank and the mirror details fit to that. Reference: TM 9-2800-1, issue February 1953, page 264. Maybe that helps.

    Determining Tire Age

A little command on tires: The military tires are made to last very many years (weather US-made or Germany made), even so called cracks in the sidewall not necessarily mean, they are unusealble. Main killer for tires is sunlight. I melts the wax in the rubber out. Than the tires more easily...

    Military Fire Trucks

Nice fire trucks, all of then! No space...... Your question: You sometimes still find here and there a former military fire truck. I know at least 2 on the Lahr Airport (former Canadian airfield, nowadays Black Forrest Airport). But no pics, sorry. Due to standardisation of European fire trucks...

    New Mercedes Zetros Trucks

RE: Spelling and look uo Sorry, the brake system is a civilian brake system at those Canadian armord ACTROS. And basic of this system works since 1996 not to bad (MAN and IVECO uses the same brake system suppliers). Of course, if you hit a mine a hose or so will be blown of (but the wheel is...

    Brake Inspections and Warnings

Sorry, misunderstood: The line for the rear axles remain unchanged. The line for the front axle also. After the air over hydraulic master, there is a simple seperation of the lines required. The T is taken out and two lines added to the new master cylinder. The line fron the brake padel remains...

    Manual Glow Plug Install

The alternators are 12 Volt 100 Amps standard stuff (57 Amps will also do it, if you do not serve a military radio). The system is relatively simple: the left generator serves the front batterie, the right generator the rear batterie. Together 24 Volts. For harness details check TM...

You simply can do it with any kind of vehicle, if you find the proper slope or curve at inpropper speed, or other way round, with the proper speed to tilt it! Besonders auf Schmittchens Spielwiese (Sorry, there in the States, that sentence is for the guy in Karlsruhe). The Volvo's are not that...

    Jump Start CUCV?

Jump start a 24 Volt vehicle with 12 Volt only works, if at least one of the two batteries is in usable condition! That's what the diagrams of the other guys show. Remember: If the engine is not perfect on compression and the injection pump and the injectors do not work very perfect, you WILL...

    m1009 alternator question

The alternator are a standard civilian used 100 Amps Generator(not alternator, for it is three phases! Alternator means AC output!). The regulator is some standard stuff which was also used in Germany by Opel. So in the States it should be no problem to get the parts. May be you auto parts shop...
