    Upper ball joint upgrade?

You can’t drill out the lower to accept 7/16, there is not enough meat left. Uppers can be drilled out to accept the 3/8 ball joint.

New to me M1123, PS PB failure....

i can’t figure out why folks think they can take a truck that’s sat in the desert for 10yrs or more and just drive it home 200miles. Tires are out of round, fluids are so far past change intervals even by civilian standards, hoses are dried out, which makes for lose hose clamps, hence what...

    Starter solenoid issues

Sounds like your solenoid is bad…you own a hmmwv, get used to spending money. HMMWV=High maintenance money wasting vehicle

CAN SUPPORT BAR BE REMOVED TO ADD MORE LEG ROOM?

there is no need to have a cage of any sorts on a slantback, the roof support/turret support is tied to the A-pillar, B-pillar and C-pillar and of course the roof overlaid onto the support. I’ve seen a lot of slantbacks overturned, they don’t suffer any roof collapse issue. Your best off getting...

CAN SUPPORT BAR BE REMOVED TO ADD MORE LEG ROOM?

H1 does not use it from 1994-2006, I have an H1 body here, there is no more support in this body than any other hmmwv body. 1992-93 model years have the B-pillar filleted and reinforced to allow a couple more inches of reclining of the bucket seat. I’ve driven a lot of 92-93 H1’s with no issues...

    M998 6.2, 3 speed trans adjusting questions

depends on the convoy commander and what he sets as the speed….the lead truck sets the pace.

foaming power steering fluid and hard to steer

you most likely have a bad o-ring that’s gradually letting air in…take your pick on what component. I would change out the easy to reach o-rings on the high pressure hoses.

    Transmission trouble

worth a try…have you unplugged the cannon plug and inspected pins on plugs for any corrosio? sometimes just reseating the plug can clear up a connection issues. In the shop environment, I can just throw another TCM at it, unfortunately that’s not an option for the normal owner.

    6.5L Serpentine Belt Conversion

Serp setup is cleaner, less maintenance, easy for belt changes, I’ve converted many V-belts to Serpentine.

Open the TCM box up and see if it’s full of water This is a common issue

    Reed switch fuel sending unit

Completely normal, Ive been using and installing the new style for years, the only benefit is the gauge doesn’t bounce around, i tell folks that when it hits a 1/4, start looking for a gas station. I have several NOS ping pong ball older version, I put that in an M998 that was bad, worked...

    Limp mode/Transmission P/N 24208421

You never really touched on 3rd or 4th…your trans in limp mode is locked in 2nd gear. Pull codes…things like bad TPS, CPS can all causes limp mode issues. a good trans shop should be able to hook up diagnostic gear and assume role of the TCM, shift manually, monitor shift points. I’ve had in 2...

    Limp mode/Transmission P/N 24208421

First problem you have is expecting any shop that has no clue on how a hmmwv is wired and how 24 and 12v components play nicely together. Your transmission is the latest 4L80e, GTP is a wholly owned subsidiary of AM General. GTP “General Transmission Products”, just like GEP “General Engine...
