have the mechanic remove the sample fluid valve port and install a hex plug, you also have one most likely on the opposite side for transmission sample, these are needed anymore.
The hose in question is on the low pressure side, but I doubt you can wrap it with anything because ATF can get...
all hmmwv engines sit in the truck at an angle, they are not straight. The geared fan drive shaft off the front of the crank is a CV joint, it Looks fine to me from the pics. We are probably the only shop that works on REV trucks on a daily basis.
shoot a PM if you have any other questions
I’ve armored more hmmwvs than I can remember , I’m finishing up on an M1165A1 REV now....
The hmmwv is the easiest truck in the world and the hardest truck in the world to armor, I know that sounds crazy, but till
you do one, you will see what I mean. The easy part is that all your armor is...
if the trans lamp is on when engine off, ive had water filled TCM boxes cause this, as well as bad TCM.
my last one was an M1152 with a dim Trans lam, opened the box and it was soaking wet.
dried everything out and no more lamp Issues.

And it doesn’t need too....one can visually compare a 7700 shaft to 10 or 12k and see it’s a night and day difference.
OP is just being cheap...10k shafts are readily available at any distributor.
you had no problem spending the money on a Dmax conversion, but you want to now cut the most...
NSS is just a pass through, so the wire numbers are the same, 2 of them…or marked A and B but makes no difference which side they plug into the NSS. To bypass it, you plug the 2 into each other with a jumper of some sort, they are both the same gender so they can’t actually connect like a male...
your truck was most likely never deployed, maint records aren’t kept as historicals like aircraft, rolling stock is an expendable item...
M1123’s were reset and had MAK installed, than parked in storage for 11 years.
Clearly you haven’t broken out the multi meter and schematic...sans throwing a bunch of money at it, electrical issues require some troubleshooting after what happened .
Dont forget to check the circuit breakers behind the instrument cluster.
