Axle (s) rebuild thread, gears and lockers

Watch out on asphalt with this style, the sharp legs can sink in.

Swapping 100 amp alternator to 260 amp on a C7

Thanks! I do have the coilovers shocks as I have the C7/A1R so that's one thing taken care of.

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

Mine are turning a reddish brown since I've been working on other projects so I'm not the one to ask!

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

If you are anywhere north, I'd recommend painting them soon, steel likes to rust!

Swapping 100 amp alternator to 260 amp on a C7

Looked around a bit but seeing so much different info and a lot of it is for prior than A1R trucks. Best I can tell, I only need the alternator for the upgrade as I have the single belt, supposedly correct alternator bracket? Plan is to power a mini split and use for both cab and habitat...

Axle (s) rebuild thread, gears and lockers

All depends on the quality of your jack stands. I haven't found it to vibrate excessively that I can't have it on a jack stand while running.

    GARAGE DOOR CLEARANCE

Now that's cool. My kids would love that (I mean I'd play with it too). Guessing these are not an easy find?

Axle (s) rebuild thread, gears and lockers

Correct, and with the lockers, if they default to locked, I would remove them from the equation by lifting up both intermediate axel tires if you have to. However if they are unlocked and you lift both tires, one will sping forward and the other back while the driveshaft doesn't spin (depending...

Axle (s) rebuild thread, gears and lockers

Jack up one intermediate tire off the ground and it should spin freely, engage the lock and it should not.

    CTIS 5 flashing lights

I just put in half the pulse count, same with the cat ECM. Cat ECM controls speed readout, CTIS just for the alerts of pressure overspend so no critical at all

    From fire truck to MTV

That's an interesting idea! I haven't ordered the major materials yet so I'll give it some thought.

Taking LMTV home | 1200mi road trip TX to NC

Have a part number/NSN for that trans controller with the WTEC 4?

Pull and wiggle essentially. There is a spring clamp holding them in. https://graphicvillage.org/meritor/TP02102.pdf

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

So I actually tried 3mph, it wouldn't allow it (humorously giving an error saying 0-10 was the acceptable range). 5 was the lowest it would take, 4 was a no go.

Axle (s) rebuild thread, gears and lockers

I've heard that happens although mine have come off with the hub so far. I also made my kids learn welding for the hub nut 😄

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

Some reference...I think I go the Cat software correctly set, any comments? For the Allison side of things, I haven't had a chance to really look into it, and I've never tried to change the parameters before. I took screenshots of the "user configurable" area (although I couldn't find out...

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

I thought I read the C7 got a different tooth count on the oil pump? Came up in this thread https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/mav%E2%80%99s-m1088a1-conversion.212126/post-2503751

    From fire truck to MTV

I have that first book, it's pretty well done. Yes those plates have their place and I plan to add them in time as an extra safety measure. They are much more important in applications where there are only a couple spring bolts and the tolerances between holes are high. In my setup, I had the...

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

Don't want it screaming rpms when coming down the hills around here. I get it's more effective but I'd like to not have it at it's redline.ive been happy with its braking in 4th before it downshifts to 3rd.

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

Great info! I haven't seen the cruise control menu in cat et, I'll have to look for it. I do have access to Allison software, but how does target gear work? If I say target gear is two, does it always try to hit gear 2 when engaging the brake? Does it care about engine redline? I'm happy with...
