They are not totally correct- the 230 was used in civilian applications in 63 and 64- but it was such a flop they pulled it, and then suckered Uncle Sam into buying them....
Surplus City has rebuilt starters for $195 exchange.

A hint for anyone planning to do your own tires- if you don't have a cage, an easy an affordable way to make one is to take an M105 bed and put it on the ground upside down. Then just slide your tire under and inflate away.
NEVER inflate one without a cage!!
I had the same account suspended bs that your dad did- not because I did anything wrong, at all, but because they never even tried to charge my card. This was 100% verified by my bank.
The info they had was correct, because they had used it on my previous purchase. They just never attempted to...

I would hit them with negative feedback, and put all 1's on the DSR "stars" as well. These days the way Ebay does the ratings those can...
Idling with no load you won't have any back pressure to speak of- not enough to ensure your drilling debris gets pushed out anyway.
I wouldn't risk it.
Yep, you had equal traction, so all wheel turned. If you ahd dropped one side off on the mud and then all tires had turned the same, that would be an indication you had lockers.
