I usually run a wire from the 12v connector - 2 studs side by side one little one 1/4" - to the GP solenoid. Then I remove the GP card from under the dash. I don't recall what wires
I cut and ground there are two of them. I can look on Monday eve. Anyway Ground one pole on your momentary...
Mike, do you have any idea how the glow plug system is wired ? It sounds like a pushbutton in conjunction with the glow plug card ? Is the resistor bank on the firewall eliminated ?
No need to look into it. Its the truth. I thought this discussion was about trucks ie M1031. As I said in my post "trucks of the CUCV era". I have a M1009 and realize they are steel and part of the roof.
A couple of small things to add. Up here in rust country it pays to make sure the differential vent is clear. I have had the end at the differential rust shut/plug. This allows pressure to build inside the differential = leaks. Also if you cannot get your fill plug out you can also fill it...
1. Block the wheels good. Set parking brake.
2. Drain remaining oil from transfer case.
3. Remove 4 bolts and u-joint straps at the rear differential.
4. Carefully pop the u-joint from the yoke at the rear differential. Don't let the caps come off. Put tape around them to keep them on.

Coal Cracker, I have not had any theft at Mechanicsburg. The second time I was in there I was picking up some 105 trailers and had to leave some behind until I could return the next week. I left a large pry bar and a large hammer by accident on the front of a 105 in plain view didn't even...
I'd be willing to make a trade, I have some nice regular pickup beds and such. I really need the throttle actuator for the generator. I got a M1031 that is missing one. I like the M1031 body it is very handy for me. Probably overkill for a lot of people. Make it your own.
If it is not an internal failure I would use JB Weld. Just make sure the area is clean and oil free. I once had a front drive shaft come unhooked except for one bolt flip around and break the transfer case. Oil just poured out of it. Didn't have much money at the time and this truck had a...
Thanks for the info. The first one has the large leece-nevil alternators that are marked 12v, they must be from a different application. On the second one the fire looks like it started at the DUVAC so it is a gonner. Where did you purchase the items from your set up?
Looks like a good install. I have a question. I have two M1010. On one it has two Leece-neville alternators on the passenger side both are marked 12v. It has some "custom wiring" done at the alternators and some charging issues. The latest one I picked up has two Leece-neville alternators on...
I like junk yards too. The overflow bottle is different from the ones on the civilian diesel trucks. I wonder if one from a van would be the same ? Any one out there with a civilian van of the 80's era ?
Thanks Mike, This is a different M1010 I never got the Injector Pump changed on the one I got from your father. I did not get the M1028 finished yet either. This M1010 had a light fire in the right front by the dreaded box. I'm not sure what the correct term is for it. I cut all of the...
Does anyone have an extra under hood wiring harness for a CUCV thats in good shape ? Also looking for a Coolant overflow bottle from the CUCV. If so how much with shipping to 15851. My M1010 had caught fire at the box on the fender. I am going to convert it to the standard CUCV charging...
