Re: RE: Re: MILITARY VEHICLE TIRES WE HOPE TO BE OF ASSISTAN
Dude, you stole those tires! When it comes time for me to put shoes on my M925A2, I'm going to have you call them for me!!
RE: Re: MILITARY VEHICLE TIRES WE HOPE TO BE OF ASSISTANCE T
The 14.00R20's aren't too far off. Berg quoted me $175/piece for 80% XL's. Gay Tire is around $185 for 80% and $220 for 95%-New XL's.

Michelin specs say 56 MPH.
I ran 60-65 in my 923A2 going down I-95 for about 3 hours. I'm not recommending that anyone else do that, but it worked just fine for me. Keep an eye on inflation pressures and tread temps. A blow-out would be catastrophic at that speed, especially on the...
Congrats Reb! It's a beaut! I'm glad some of the goodies were still in the back for you. Looks like you and your boys had fun.
dmetalmiki, it has the NHC-250 240hp Cummins. Cruising speed is around 60 MPH. 5-6 MPG can be expected.
Beautiful! What's the top speed with the Super Swampers, 50MPH? I'd be nervous to go much faster than that in the short-wheelbase Mog. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Bjorn,
I'll be doing this resto cranetruck-style, one piece at a time for best results. The bed and tub are coming off. All wiring, drive-train, and air lines will be gone through while the chassis is exposed. Then, the whole chassis is getting steam-cleaned, spot blasted, primed, and...
RE: Re: RE: My new M936A2 project
It's about time you started a progress thread! :) I'm glad you got some decent tires in the deal. Mine wouldn't hold air on a bet. I think the truck was drug around with them flat.
That's going to be a beautiful truck. Bet you can't wait until you get it...
Here's a front shot of the truck. It'll look better once Tommy gets the headlights and the new bumper installed. I also got a good used hard-top for it from Bkubu. More updates later!
Craig, you are a heck of a guy. You always know just what to get me :D I'll take it. Thanks!
Scott, this place is definitely my big OD truck support group. It's what kept me going during that big project last year.
PC, it's ugly too. It wouldn't be a bad truck if it weren't missing the...
Deal!! If you can help put Humpty together again I will gladly grease some wheel bearings and change some knuckle boots!
Cdub, thanks buddy! I always look forward to your emails ;)
Maybe I'll make it with this one, Stan. I never had the chance with the M923A2.
powerhouse, yep, we definitely like the bigguns, C'dub, and Rattlehead, and No.2 too :)
E22, glad I snatched one when I could.
WM, LOL, I don't think so. If anything, I would drop in one of the newer 6-spd Allison behind a Cummins ISX 450 :D
RE: Re: RE: My BIG M925A2 Project Truck Is Home
Yep, this bed liner material is really thick and rough too. It's the first time I have seen it on a surplus truck. It's too bad the bed is such a crusty mess or I would keep it.
Re: RE: My BIG M925A2 Project Truck Is Home
Bingo! Get that man a cupie doll!
It's definitely not making the GA rally
The 2009 ECC is a definite possibility though. I have a few months head start on my 923A2 project so I should good!!
Well, now I have another big 939-series project on my hands. This is why the M931A1 tractor is being sold so quickly. This project is even bigger than the 923A2 from last year, but it's what I have always wanted. It was a great price too. I had a local guy pick it up from Portsmouth on his...
Darn it! I didn't see the MWO tag for that! It turned out that water had leaked down into the steering column because someone stole the horn button. I pulled the horn contact cove off of the column and rusty water poured out. Nice. The contact and diode were rusted all to heck.
Yes, the Allison would hit pretty good when it it dropped into 1st gear. I drove a 24' moving truck once with an Allison Slam-o-matic in it. It would jar your teeth when it up or down-shifted. That was a long 600 miles.
No.2, I like the speed, the size of the cab, the one-piece front end, the air brakes, the wiper motors, the automatic, and the lower noise. My 923A2 was a great highway cruiser so far as 21k lb trucks with 49" tires go. I was running 60-65 all the way back from Aberdeen last year. The trip...
