    Paint reducer questions.............

I was just at Rapco today and the owner said to use Xylene one part to four. Anything else and he said he can't guarantee proper results. I personally say to each his own and what you're willing to risk. I got a gallon of Xylene for $17.50 from him to be safe.

    Engine stalling @ idel

It's all in the TM's. The primary has a bolt under the generator and the secondaries are a nut on the driver side rear of the engine.

    USAF Colors for Early M35

There is a definite layer between the red and gray. It's the gray and blue that I'm having the issue with. It's a 5 speed with O/D so all that is up to date as far as an A2 goes. The inside of the deuce is light green and the doors show rich OD under them but they are not original doors. They...

    USAF Colors for Early M35

After some digging and scraping I found more info inside the truck. It is/was a USAF tuck #66KO3553 last documented at 280th CCSQ in 1995. The truck has an old style shiftier arm that smacks the selector switch when in reverse meaning what plausibility..A1 model? Early A2? I have some pictures...

    USAF Colors for Early M35

Excellent info! I don't have the numbers as I didn't knew they existed (dur) but also the FD painted it Red. I'll take a grinder to it this weekend and see what I can come up with. [thumbzup]

    USAF Colors for Early M35

The SF-97 says 00012526329 but I haven't gotten to it on the frame yet. It has about five layers of paint from the V-FD. I'll get back to you on this. Woo..good point good sir. Not to delegate the legwork here but any references to AF markings on a deuce? I'd really like to make it...

    USAF Colors for Early M35

When was the A1 replaced from service? I know gassers should have been gone long before 1966 but some slip..who knows. Never any bias for blue huh GE?

    USAF Colors for Early M35

That's what I'm thinking. Strata blue. I don't have a visual reference of this though.

    USAF Colors for Early M35

I have a USAF 1966 KJ that was converted from a gasser. The old style tail lights, old exhaust, extra radiator space, USAF safety stickers, etc..etc.. leads me to believe this. The old style gas tank is military in nature but nothing I can visually reference from searching. The multi in it now...

    Recommended coolant?

Ditto. The antifreeze needs special additives to prevent foaming due to vibrations and etc. It's just easier to get the premixed stuff than to find the additives IMHO.

    Military Fire Trucks

Here's a few pictures of some brush trucks I just picked up. The first is a 1969 KJ that is stock plus a master battery cutoff. Paperwork in the glove box suggested it served in the aftermath of Katrina moving food. Luckily a detailed schedule showed the FD unit was relocated prior to the storm...
