When you say strainer you mean the mesh strainer inside the filler neck below the filler cap? When I try to unscrew the filler cap the entire filler neck tries to unscrew from the tank, I can see the paint break where the filler neck goes into the tank!
I was gifted seven hundred gallons of JP8, tried to fill up the wrecker and fuel cap drivers side will not budge! When I lean into it the filler neck starts to unscrew from the tank! Any known remedy for this without removing the filler neck, I know I will get crap in the tank during the...
I had to pass on one at the Tulsa Municipal auction a several of years ago, it had a blown engine and went for nothing! That was before I had my tractor or 936. I still regret it!
I haven't given up on the one hold out hub. Tomorrow I am going to put a torch to the screws with the Kroil on them to see if I can dry them up for the hammer job to work!
I was dreading replacing the wheel cylinders on my 6217 Maint. truck after hearing all the horror stories about the three hub screws on each wheel! So I did a little research on screw removal, and found a old mechanic video on screw removal. He said use a large flat punch and good sized hammer...

A couple of years ago GL had a 936 boom up for bid, I put a $100 on it and forgot about the bid, a few days later I won! When I showed up in OKC to pick it up it had two new lift cylinders packed inside the boom! Never know what you will get, well most of the time the shaft but sometimes not!
I purchased a M198A1 converter dolly a few years ago, very soon afterwards I found a 809 series tractor so the dolly was never used and just set in the cedar woods! I pulled it out last week and what a transformation with just the use of a low power washer!
Ok, we now have a B17 and 3or 4 more smaller aircraft added to our fly in a couple of weeks. I don't want to make people stand up to eat so how do we sit them in the Covid era without spending all of our time disenfecting after each person finishes eating????? I am thinking of getting some a...
We have "Doc" the B29 out of Dallas showing up for rides on the first weekend in September, at the Arkansas Air and Military Museum, at Drake Field in Fayetteville! Just found out last week so we are going to have to hustle to get the MKT ready for a hot lunch for all and a little welcome...
